So I left Thailand and reentered on my DTV back in April. Today I went to report my address for the 90 day report.

Had all my documents in order (or so I thought).

I did not know you needed a TM30 for each time you exit and reenter Thailand. Immigration official’s smile immediately fades when she looks me up in the system and asks why my TM30 is dated for July and not April.

Well, “There was a typo in my name”, I said.

She said, “No, where is your TM30 for April. You only have two TM30s. Where is owner. Charge ฿1600. Contact owner right now. Do not leave. You call I speak to owner.”

Condo Owner: not responding to texts or calls

Me: the genius who left his wallet back at the condo, because, “Oh, immigration is just a short stroll to the beach, I’ll be in and out.”

Currently sitting here hoping they’ll let me return with the money. Each time they ask for owner, they just get angrier and angrier. Dear God

Update: They let me come back with the money. Got my receipt and I swear to God I’ll never make that mistake again 🤣

I have a question about the soft dtv visa. Are you legally allowed to work online as well? Obviously you're not allowed to work for Thai clients; are you allowed to freelance online for non Thai residents whilst staying in Thailand with a DTV soft power visa?

* I have recently gotten a DTV in Jakarta and am back in Thailand.

* I am a Japanese national & a framework to prevent double taxation is in place between Japan and Thailand.

* As I am planning to live and work here more than 180days per calendar year (most probably around 300 days per calendar year) , I believe I will be subject to personal income taxes in Thailand.

* I have previously worked under a working visa in Thailand, therfore, I have a tax ID in Thailand and Thai bank account.

Q: Has anyone here been in a similar situation—staying in Thailand for more than 180 days while working remotely for a company under a DTV visa—and had experience paying taxes in Thailand?

So, I applied for the DTV 6 days ago (German citizen). My last name has an ö in it, a letter only found in a few alphabets. It is common to either write it as “oe” or “o” on official documents. I have been getting flights by writing it with “o” for ages.

I just got an automated email saying my visa application was cancelled due to my last name having been incorrect. There was no indication on the application or embassy website on how to spell it.

I will obviously call the embassy tomorrow and if necessary the responsible office in Thailand… but I wanted to ask if anybody has had a similar experience and whether they managed to get a refund it were able to change it after the fact. My visa application just got moved to the completed tab with a “cancelled” indication. Didn’t receive anything but this automated email. Because loosing 350 Euros for writing my name correctly is not acceptable to me.

Hi, after my last failed attempt to get the DTV (Soft Power) visa, I’m now trying again from Vietnam. I wanted to ask how you handled the translation of your bank statements.

I’m from Germany, and the documents need to be in English. When I try to translate my bank statements using Google Translate, the formatting gets all messed up and it doesn’t look good anymore.

Maybe you have a tip for me or could share how you did it 🙏🏽
