Do I need the proof of funds (500k TBH) 3 months before or can I send the funds to an account the month before for example?

Has anyone had success using an electric bill instead of drivers license for proof of residence? I was told you need a Driver’s license as proof of residence, but I only have a passport, and electric bill. (Not in USA so I can’t get a DL)

For the DTV visa, my passport expires in a little less than 12 months. I'm assuming that will be a problem right?

( I know the "O" does not require health insurance). For anyone on an O-A visa, this is required Foreign Insurance Certificate: As stipulated by the Office of Insurance Commission and Health Insurance of Thailand, this certificate must be completed, signed, and stamped by the insurance company. Has anyone had luck with that specifically BCBS Federal? TIA!

I have a 6 year old that I plan on enrolling in an international school and a 2 year old. I'm stuck on the pros and cons of a DTV or an Education Visa. Does anyone have any insight?

Hi all

I’m moving to Thailand next year.

It sounds like my best option is to get a non immigrant O visa, move to Thailand, open a bank account with proof of residence, and then apply for a marriage visa?

Does this sound right?

Hello everyone. I have a question about Thai bank accounts. I know changes happen, but if I get a retirement visa or possibly a marriage visa, can I withdraw those funds from the US if I went back or do I have to remove funds while in Thailand? I’m hoping we stay, but my spouse may want to work enough work Quarters to qualify for Social Security which probably means living here unless she could do remote work with she hasn’t done before. Haven’t looked into those jobs yet

Hi All

We are retiring to Thailand beginning of 2026. My initial plan was just fly to thailand with my wife whom holds Thai citizenship and then i was going to apply once we were in the the country sounded like it was easier but now with banking accounts being more difficult to open i am on the thought of applying before we leave the states but with this i have minor police record from 30+ years ago. Nothing felony or serious has anyone ran into issues when applying at a Thai Embassy in their own country with very old issues.

DTV, retirement or Marriage visa? We're planning to spend our time between Thailand and Europe. Advantages / disadvantages?
