I built a house on my wife's property 2 1/2 years ago. We winter there 5 months and 7 months in the U.S. According to the Royal Thai Consulate I can apply for a yearly renewal retirement visa as follows: retirement income plus money in bank for 60 days equals 800,000 bht. I used to go to Laos to get re stamped but almost didn't get back last time. Not doing the border bounce.

Please confirm that with an OA visa you do not need money in a Thai bank. Just proof you have either the 800k or the monthly 65k in a bank offshore. Cheers

Okay so I got an overwhelming response to my last post about buying in Thailand and finding a bride at 47. Thanks for all the advice, I now understand about how polluted certain places get, to watch out for scammers and ladies that just want your money, to rent first and experience the culture as I might not like the culture or the area.

Are there areas that have living local westerners to socialise with as well as offering genuine ladies? I'm not interested in the drinking/nightclub scene, just chilling with good company 👍

Hi all. I have been following posts of many of you moving to Thailand . Can I ask what it’s like to retire in Thailand ? What do you do to keep busy ? Also is it not a dangerous place for a single women ? It seems many of the comments suggest not , which has perked my interest in perhaps moving over, although I am a bit weary ?

I’m currently in Thailand on an Education visa, but I’m now looking into the possibility of switching to a Non-O visa to follow family.

I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this kind of visa change specifically, is it possible to change visa status from an ED visa to a Non-O while staying inside Thailand, or would I need to leave the country and apply from abroad?

Also, if anyone knows a reliable agency that can assist with this process locally (preferably without having to exit the country), I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice.

Thanks so much in advance

Has anyone been asked to show your 500k baht on your bank balance at immigration in the airport on your first time entering with an accepted DTV visa? Or are you okay to move the money out once you get accepted?

I’m coming to Thailand in November for 90 days, here’s my questions

1. Do I book the flight for 90 days even though I’ve not got the 90 day visa?

2. How do I get the 90 day visa? Is it at the airport as soon as I arrive in Thailand.

3. If I want to stay longer, how do I do this?

Hi, I'm in the UK and intend to apply for a retirement visa. I have the required funds in crypto but its in my crypto wallet. I don't really want to take it out and put it in my UK bank account. Has anyone used a crypto wallet instead of their bank account to prove you have the funds?

Hello, everyone. I’ve been thoroughly researching this whole situation, and I still don’t know what’s the best option for me or where I should go to get everything taken care of.

My 60 days will be up in two weeks.

I’m traveling with my dog, and I know I’ll need to go to the vet and get a health certificate to leave the country again, which is already a headache.

I’m worried about not receiving her health certificate on time, and I obviously don’t want to get kicked out of the country. I was given incorrect information, and I wasn’t aware of the timeline.

These are my questions:

1. What happens if her health certificate arrives three weeks late and I’m here for more than 60 days? Will I get kicked out?

2. I have money in the bank, but I don’t want to pay any unnecessary money for this visa process. I’m considering going to Vietnam to apply for the visa and come back. Is this a good place to apply for the visa?

3. If Vietnam is a good place to apply for the visa, what kind of visa should I apply for?

4. How many times will I have to do these visa runs a year?

5. What documents should I bring to apply for my visa? Will I only need a printout of my bank statements, my passport, a printed photo of myself?
