Is it possible to change from a Non-O Visa (based on marriage) with a 1-year extension of stay to a half Thai child dependent visa? My wife can continue working while I process my visa, which is easier as she works away sometimes. tia šŸ™

PS: I'm about to renew my 1-year extension of stay - due 13th May. (SriRacha Immigration Office)

Hi just a quick #insurance question

I got my evisa (spouse) and will travel to TH in 2 weeks. The visa is 90 days + later an extension

My question is - For how long should I buy a classic travel health insurance from the country of origin? When will I be able to buy "expat"sort of insurance in Thailan?

I mean - e.g. buy whatever travel insurance just for a week or two and quickly change for "expat" insurance inside of TH

Or buy travel for 90days and then I will be able to buy the other one?

What's your experience/recommendations?

Thanks alot!

Has anyone here applied for a long-term visa as a dependent (spouse)? I need clarification regarding the process of submitting the Marriage Certificate. Is it really required to go to Thai Embassy and DCA here in the Philippines? Thanks so much.

If I exit on a tourist exemption and come back a month later asking for a tourist exemption at Swampy with my Thai passport holding daughter, do you think the immigration officer at the airport will flag me? I would only have that 1 tourist exemption stamp in my passport and I do plan to convert this into a 90 day non-o spousal.

I want to open a bar/restaurant with my Thai girlfriend but I’m here on a 60 day free visa on arrival. Which visa would be best? Business visa or marriage visa? Also, should the business be under my name or hers?

Hi All, Seeking some clarification on the "medical visa". My tourist visa expires April 20, I would like to start a medical visa for dental work before then. The work should take 2 - 6 months to complete and doctor's office said they would provide certifying letter of appointments. My questions are:

* the Thai embassy site seems straight forward, just mentioning the doctor's letter stating appointment dates, but google results mention medical facility registration letter (from Ministry of Health?), and bank statement with minimum balance (not sure if they mean a US bank statement or do I need to open a Thai acct), so what exactly is needed?

* Thai E visa site, pop up window states you cannot apply for E visa while you are in Thailand. Is this really true, and if so would the in person Immigration office tell me if I am missing some documentation before applying/paying and getting rejected?

* Lastly, this is for dental work, so I could fly home and have it done, do they care if I am travel worthy or not to have the work done in my home country?

Any help is appreciated!

A question about house books, as I feel I might be missing something here. For a foreigner married to a Thai lady, what is the difference between, or advantage of, having your own yellow book or being included on your wife's blue book? TIA
