Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice about switching visas here in Chiang Mai.

* I’m currently on a Non-B visa extension through a tutoring company I work for.

* My extension expires on Jan 5, 2026.

* I’m married to a Thai citizen, and we live together in Chiang Mai.

* I want to leave my job and instead switch over to a Non-O marriage visa.

I understand for the marriage extension I’ll need:

* 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account (seasoned 2 months before applying), OR proof of 40k monthly income.

* Marriage certificate, wife’s ID, lease/landlord documents, and photos together.

My questions:

1. Is it possible in Chiang Mai to switch directly from a Non-B extension to a Non-O (marriage) without leaving the country?

2. If not, would my best option be to do a border run, come back on a Tourist visa, and then convert that to a 90-day Non-O marriage inside Thailand?

3. For proof of residence, my name is on our lease — do I need to update it so both my wife and I are listed, or will landlord’s ID + lease + photos be enough?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this recently in Chiang Mai, as I know rules can vary by office.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Hi there. I have a quick question for anyone who has applied for the DTV in the UK. Approximately how long did it take to get a decision? I appreciate that extra documentation may be requested. Thanks very much!

Hello. Is it possible to get a visa extension for DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) at Samut Prakan Immigration or other ? I am planning to extend my visa this week .

Hi group! I'm getting prepared to apply for a DTV and have a few questions.

I'd like to apply through the Jakarta office as I'll be in Indonesia soon, but on Sulawesi, not in Jakarta. Do I physically need to go to the Jakarta office, or can I apply fully online from another region of Indonesia?

I'm thinking of applying for the workcation as I'm under contract with an online teaching company, but I'll only have one or two months of pay to show. Those who have gone through Jakarta - how many months of income did you need to show? (I'm coming off of a non-b visa, so it's a transition time which is why I'll only have a couple months of recent online pay. I've also plenty of savings to show, so that aspect isn't an issue).

My other option is doing a soft power. I saw that "seminars" was an option. Has anyone done this one? What does it entail?

Thank you everyone! 🙏

Hello friends! So I have applied for a workation visa from Hanoi this Sunday evening, provided everything possible and known to me:

- financial(two accounts back home showing funds more than 500k Bhats for six months)

- professional (cover letter, gst registration certificate, screenshots of business, IT returns etc)

-location documents ( current hotel in Hanoi including the arrival stamps, boarding pass, tickets and also lease in Thailand and flights inwards to cnx)

But I made a mistake of pre-booking flights for coming Sunday i.e. 14th as I wasn't certain of applying for DTV when I planned my Hanoi trip and thought it was just a border run.

Do you have any recommendations to have the process expedited if at all any, as I ideally don't want to lose money on tickets and extending hotel here any further.. though that's my last option. I'm happy to even walk over to the embassy if it helps, though any inputs welcome. Also, anyone who applied from Hanoi recently, what was your turnaround?

Thank you and much grateful for this community 🙏☺️

Hi all. Question about funds in home country bank for Non O application.

Once visa is granted are there any further requirements to show funds again.

Not being dodgy want to pay off car lease with funds and then replace with sale proceeds before leaving for Thailand.

Thanks in advance

Good morning. I have just arrived on a Non O-A visa and have done my first visit to immigration for the TM30. As my current medical insurance expires 31 Dec I was only stamped in until then, insurance will be renewed sometime in November. Will I still have to fly out and back in order to get another year stamp? How easy is it to change to Non O visa which saves the insurance requirement?
