Approved in Manila

US passport

-Applied via agent using Muay Thai soft power.

-Asked for additional documents the very next business day:

1. Proof of ongoing income. I have read other reports of Manila asking for proof of income from other applicants in this group. Note that this is in addition to the 3 months of statements showing 500k baht and that this is for a soft power Muay Thai app, not workcation. The embassy did not specify how much income they were looking for but apparently I met that threshold.

2. Proof of Muay Thai payment beyond the receipt (I provided a credit card statement showing the payment).

3. Thai translation of business registration for Muay Thai school.

-All documents submitted the same day they were requested. My visa agent also prepared a cover letter explaining my source of income.

-Approved after a total of 4 business days. No interview or further questions.

Overall a smooth process. My agent and Muay Thai provider were very helpful and responded quickly to questions and requests for additional documents. I used Siam Legal as the agent and FitFac as the Muay Thai provider for a 9 month course.

I have a Thai bank account only because I have a Non-O marriage visa. It’s got the B400k but it is only for demonstrating proof of funds. I gave my Thai wife the remainder of our cash and assets so I don’t need money.

Hello all!

Anyone recently apply through the CHICAGO consulate for a DTV visa with a bank statement of less than 3 full months of $16,000 in your account?

The requirements listed on the Chicago Consulate website for the DTV aren't clear if it's necessary to have 3 full months, or if a shorter time is fine as long as you meet that $16k minimum.

All it says is *"a copy of a recent saving or checking bank statement with an ending balance of no less than 500,000 THB or ($16,000)".*

I'm hoping I can apply with 2 months and not have any issues but would love any input or data points from other's recent experience with the CHICAGO consulate.

Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a visa service that keeps up to date on Non O visa requirements. The current service I hired has completely screwed my application for the Non O immigrant visa with incorrect financial and banking information provided to me.

Hi all,

My Portuguese passport with a Thai DTV visa was expiring, and I’ve just received a new passport. I was able to keep the old one, which has been invalidated by having the corners cut. The DTV visa is linked to that old passport.

I plan to travel to Thailand carrying both passports together with the DTV visa. Has anyone done something similar, or can share whether I might encounter any issues?

Thank you very much.

Do you have to take a 5 day break from Thailand after a 2nd consecutive border run (i.e at 360 days)? As I understood it's up to 360 days per year? Thanks

DTV - Does anyone know if you need to leave Thailand for 5 days during a second consecutive border run? Is it 180 + 180 = 360 days per year allowed for DTV?

To open a thai bank account with a non O visa, i need a SIM with a monthly plan. (Same as I have in the UK)

But when buying a new phone with SIM monthly plan, say AIS, how can I register it to an address if that address is a homestay?

Or can I register it to my wifes land which she has her blue book for.

(The land doesn’t have a house on it hence the need for temporary accommodation until we have finished building)

Its all steps and procedures I need to take to first open the bank account to deposit the 400k to obtain the the 12 month extension based on marriage.

We may end up renting in Pattaya for a while but maybe OK if in a quiet area….

Is the DTV still easy to obtain in Vietnam with Muay Thai Course, the same as year ago....with just recent bank statement showing 500k baht in account (from a few days before applying for visa only)?

Thinking about changing to a work visa but hopefully can apply for another DTV in the future depending on the situation?
