have two questions regarding the DTV visa process:

1. I paid the visa fee on July 9 and submitted all documents on July 17, but the status is still "under review." I’ve seen people say it can take anywhere from 2 days to over a month depending on the embassy, but does anyone know the official processing time?

2. Regarding the 500,000 THB financial requirement: In the official checklist, it says the funds must be inibank account for 3 months. However, about two months ago, I emailed the embassy and asked if I could use money from a Thai money market fund (mutual fund), and they replied that it’s fine to sell the fund at the time of application, as long as the money is under my name. Now I'm reading completely different things, and I’m confused.

I’m honestly quite stressed about this process and really hope I won’t get rejected.

If I do get denied, can I apply again at a different embassy (like in Vietnam), or will it already be flagged in the system?ץ

Thanks In advance 🙏🙏

Need some advice. I applied for the DTV (Soft Power – Thai language) on July 31 and arrived in KL on August 3. So far, no updates. I called the embassy and was told:

* Proof of 6 months accommodation in Thailand is mandatory for all applicants (they’ll request it later)

* Most applicants are called in for an interview

* Processing time is usually a month

I own a condo in Thailand but don’t have the title deed or blue book with me — didn’t realize they’d be required. Given that, is it worth scrapping my KL application and restarting in Hanoi instead (same visa type)?

KL is draining. The embassy here is 100% stricter, and I’d rather not waste a month waiting for an interview that doesn’t guarantee approval. Open to any thoughts.

Hi Guys… I’m a UK Passport holder. I am currently in Chiang Mai. my tourist visa expires in a couple of weeks. I’m trying to work out which of the neighbouring countries is easiest to travel to and apply for a DTV from using the soft power option. I’m considering travel routes, ease of application process, speed, cost etc. I was going to book a 2 week stay somewhere but seems it might not be necessary as I’ve noticed some applications are processed in 3 or 4 days in some cases. I’d appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks in advance

Hey! I would like to apply from Philippines, it’s the whole process online? I will be one night in Cebu, and then 2 weeks in Siargao, would this time be enough? Should I also add my airbnbs receipts from Cebu and Siargao?

Also, regarding the balance of 15k, I have much more than that but it’s all invested, I will reimburse from a fund so I have those 15k liquid. But it will be only for this month, if they require form previous month everything will be in investment funds or stock, would I have any trouble with this?

Just a quickie - since I last visited BKK I’ve been told that as a U.K. national there is a form you have to fill in before going. It says ‘within 72 days’ but does that mean during the last 72 hours in the run up to the flight, or before the last 72 hours ? Thanks in advance and no nasty comments please 😎

I have a request, I am in Thailand I was told I could convert a tourist visa into a non O visa, went to immigration in Nakhon Sawan to ask l, they would not help or tell me what steps I need to take, I am wanting to end up with a retirement visa as soon as I can. Any good advice would be appreciated, I’m sorry I do not have a bank account in my name, I have proof of residency, I believe I was given bad information from someone already living here, he said I should just come over on a tourist visa and change it to a non O visa once I arrived, now I am finding out I should had just applied when I was home and came in like everyone is saying Thanks

Nice experience wanted to share:

This morning we had a appointment to pick up my drivers license translation(8:40) and at 09:30 a appointment at the German embassy for legalization of that copy. So we left at 6:45 arrived at the translator at 10:00 and then at 10:30 at the German embassy. We thought let’s try if they still would help us as Germans are well known for being on the clock and too our big surprise they helped us not even complaining about us being late. (Cost translation & legalization THB 1943)

So we got everything ready for my Thai drivers license.

Hi everyone! I have a question about the DTV visa.

My passport will expire in the next 6 months, so I plan to get a new passport soon.

What should I do for the DTV visa process after I get the new passport?

Do I need to update or transfer the visa to the new passport?

Thanks in advance for your help!
