I'd like to ask if anyone has got their DTV in one country and added/applied dependants to the DTV from a different country? We've been waiting weeks for the Canberra office in Australia and have flights booked. Their website says ten working days and we called to confirm but gave ourselves an extra few weeks after those ten days to as apply for the dependant visas but STILL don't have the DTV 😭

We need to be out of Australia and thinking of applying in Penang for the dependant visas. Will this be an issue?

DTV - UAE Experience so far

Thought I would share my fresh from the press experience here for the DTV application. I applied 3 days ago from the UAE and yesterday I got an email saying my visa was cancelled because I “entered the wrong nationality. Should not be United Arab Emirates” But I 100% entered it correctly (Austria) - see screenshot.

Now they’re asking me to reapply again, obviously running through a new payment of 400 USD.

I also checked the place of issuance, which for me was Dublin as my Austrian Embassy in Dublin has processed my passport.

Super confused as to how to proceed from here...

Has anyone transferred DTV to a new passport? Any suggestions how to do this?

Arrived into BKK (Suvarnabhumi) this morning. There was a long queue. When I reach the IO, from me giving her my passport to her handing it back to me: took less than 2 minutes! Unbelievable. She was super fast. Zero questions asked! This was my 10th entry (3 entries into DMK, 7th entry into BKK, yeah I'm in and out a lot) and all 10 entries have had ZERO questions asked. Pro tip: give the IO your passport+visa printout+boarding pass all at the same time. That pretty much guarantees you won't be asked anything. TDAC is auto-displayed on her monitor when she scans your passport.

Is it possible to stay 5 years using only 6 months muay thai class? dtv visa expires 5 years. I have to go immigration to extend staying every 180 days. but, If I go other country every 180days, I think I don't need to take more class and to go to immigration. Is it possible?

I’m a US citizen currently working remotely from Ethiopia & am trying to apply for a DTV. I’ve two dependents (wife & kid) that are both Ethiopian citizens. How do I go about this?

Do I apply as if I’m living in Ethiopia (in which case the application apparently is handled by the consulate in Niarobi) or do I apply as if I’m living in the US. If the latter then would the consulate in the US also handle the case for my wife/kid although they aren’t a US resident?

I didn’t think it would happen to me, but it happened to me! My Bangkok Bank bank account, opened about a year ago, is going away. I opened it on a DTV visa with my girlfriend at the time who is a businesswoman who vouched for me, and I’ve been using it ever since for day to day use. They called me into the branch and said sorry, and that I could keep it for 30 days until I switched visas, or otherwise they would have to close the account. They also said they were going back 6 years closing accounts! So if you think you’re safe because you’ve made it this long, sadly, I don’t think you are. So start planning now, as your time will probably come!

I received my DTV here in Vientiane, Laos!

But now my wife and two sons are going to fly here to apply as dependents.

How much wood be the fee for them? Also would they all be required to an in-person interview?
