Hi everyone,

I have a Non-O visa (Thai spouse) and am looking to extend it for another year. I have a working permit so originally tried opting in through a Thai employer, and I’ve almost completed all the documents. But, I don’t have any previous tax payment records in the country yet since I only started paying taxes here this year. These records should be available next year.

Now I've read the other two options: by pension as salary, and by securing a deposit of money sitting in a Thai bank account for '2 months'

I have a few questions:

1. Regarding the income certificate that meets the required amount, under which category does this fall? I already have the certificate (in Thai).

2. Do I still need to visit the embassy for this process, or are there additional documents I need to provide?

Lastly, does anyone have a reliable resource or checklist for these documents?

When I called Nakhon Pathom immigration office, they told me that without recent tax payments, I might need to leave the country and re-enter with a Non-B visa, which I think doesn’t seem to make sense in my case with Non-O visa. Any advice? Thank you.

Bank Letter Validity

Applying for a 1 year non o extension based on marriage. Just wondering if I can go to the bank a few days before to get the letter and update the bank book on day of application?

Hi I'm contacting you on behalf of a elderly thai friend of mine .

She unfortunately mistakenly entered Thailand on her US passport and has been put on a non o visa .

She has a Thai ID card She has just renewed her US passport so next time she travels will be a different US passport .

Can she now just forget about the non o visa and just make sure next time she travels make sure she enters Thailand on her Thai passport .

Thanks in advance for any information

Hi everyone,

Earlier this week I submitted my application online through www.thaievisa.go.th from Australia. The application was submitted okay but it will not accept any payment, I have tried multiple cards over the last few days. Has anyone had this issue or have advice? Is there someone I can contact?

It's time to apply for a non o visa extension and I asked my landlord for a new TM 30 because I have been out of the country before. I was told that since I didn't notify the landlord that I have been out of Thailand and returned, I have to pay a fine to the landlord in order to get a new TM 30. Is this normal? Where are the rules listed that I must report to my landlord that I have been traveling? If I am in the wrong, how to calculate the amount of fine I have to pay and to whom? Thanks in advance.

HELP! I fly today USA-Bkk w/Taipei layover. BUT my Non-0 90 Day Single Entry VISA approval made online thru LA Consulate didn’t make it in time. So now I’m arriving on 60 Day Visa Exempt. People on this thread recommend overland border run or quick flight out/in to activate the Non 0 Visa in a few days when hopefully visa approval does land in my inbox. Will Immigration be understanding and accepting of the legit explanation for why my Port of Entry no longer lines up with the specific flight # and arrival airline that was indicated on my Non 0 Visa application? Or do they normally just see a Visa and stamp it without further details needed? Just trying to find out least-friction way to activate my late arriving approval of Non 0 Visa, thanks!

Hi lovely people! I did a 30 days extension for a tourist visa at the immigration office. But now, I have 2 dates stamped on my passport. What MOP 16 means? Do I have to do a new extension before Jan 12? Or I am good until Feb 11? Appreciate the help!

Hello. My wife and I are in the planning phase of our retirement to Thailand (from Canada). This is approximately 3 years away.

Is there a site or video series that anyone can recommend that lists the recommended steps? We have a reasonably good idea of the requirements but not the steps, the order and timelines.

We plan to use an agent as I assume that will make things more efficient and painless. I think it's too early for an agent but I could be wrong. I assume 6 months prior.

I got the DTV in HCMC as a business owner with no additional docs request!! (timeline + paperwork below)

First i want to thank everyone in the group for the collective info. You guys are awesome!

Timeline:

03/12 - Arrived in Ho chi minh at night

04/12 - Visa app sent at 6:44am

09/12 - Went into pending approval around 7pm

11/12 - Approval email at 6:24pm

* 04/12 - 11/12 - I stressed myself to the gills waiting for the verdict 😂 *

Docs submitted:

* Picture of vietnam entry stamp, hotel receipt, hotel booking, and screentshot of the official email from my hotel with the receipt and hotel contact info on it just in case

* Cover letter listing why I want to live in thailand, why I like the country, etc.

* Business approval to work in thailand given by my company to me

* Business registration with my home state in the US

* Two client contracts with names redacted

* 6 month bank statements showing over 500k baht

* Screenshots of website, youtube channel, and FB business page

* Brief explanation of my business (I am a marketing consultant)

I used a pdf merging site to combine all the docs for the respective questions.

My best recommendation is to use canva for the raw pdfs as it allows you to create a multiple page pdf by default so you can skip some of the more tedious merging.

If you have any questions, let me know

‼️TRIPLE CHECK YOUR ANSWERS AND DO NOT USE AUTOFILL FOR ANYTHING ON THE APP‼️

I even had a friend proofread my basic info like passport and DOB to be ultra sure

Good luck everyone!

Slightly off-topic, but since many people here are on workation or working remotely, I think this is the best place to ask:

I plan to bring my PC/computer setup with me during my workation (DTV) stay in Thailand. Since it’s too big for my suitcase, I want to ship it via UPS. UPS is asking me to declare the value of the PC for customs purposes.

Do I need to pay VAT or import taxes? As far as I know, tourists don’t need to pay VAT or import taxes on personal items. I’ve always brought my laptop with me for stays of several months in Thailand without any issues. This PC is a used item, part of my personal belongings, and I intend to return it to Germany once my workation is over.

Has anyone in this group experienced a similar situation with shipping a PC or computer setup?

PS: Im from Germany (if that matters somehow lol).
