Good morning. My six month visa ends on Jan 4th. I arrive back from the UK on Jan 1st. I now wish to extend my o visa to a retirement visa, but because of the long bank holidays, I cannot extend until Jan 5th.

a/ am I still allowed to extend? b/ do I have to pay a fine, and if so, how much?

New Rules…

Let me get this straight.... after reading many articles on the lack of tourist they're once again changed the rules...... so, if I come to Thailand on the standard 60-day visa and then extended 30 days and during that time, I spend $8,000/$10,000 enjoying myself and at the same time contributing to Thailand's tourism industry........ and then I decide I'd like to spend another 60 or 90 days having a great time and contributing even more $$$ to the local area and I will be refused?

Ummmm .........

Just a quick heads up for those applying for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV ) aware . I have just received my approval letter from the Thai embassy in London today (14 November ) .

For those interested in timescales I applied on the 27 October with an arrival date into BKK of the 26 November . (Somehow I managed to fill in the application form with no referrals back to me for correction Perhaps I’m an over thinker ! )

I did ask previously wait times for this visa on these forums but nobody was able to give me any answers . So just a bit of real time experience information for those interested .

When I go to Immigration following the two months maturation of funds in the bank, how long does it take to get the 12 month stamp which will then allow me to leave Thailand and return home?

I am going to have a lump sum in the UK that I need to invest. Does anyone in the UK have advice? I understand a little about the double tax treaty but not enough. I will maintain a UK bank account plus a wise account and maybe keep premium bonds.

For several years i have used the online 90 day report without any problem. The last 4 occasions it has been rejected. I have just done 14 days before, 13 and today 12, each time rejected. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I’m currently living in Thailand on a non-o extension, my wife was still in the UK whilst we sold our house.

On 6 September, I applied for her 90 day Non-O which was granted on 16th September and is valid from 15th September through to 13th December. We’re bringing our two small poodles with us and we were having problems booking a flight to arrive before 13th December where we can bring the pets in cabin, we managed to find a flight which arrives on 11 December so I have two days of this visa window spare.

As a precaution on 15th of October, I applied for another Non-0 90 day, this was granted today and is valid from 13th November through to 10th February.

My question is does the second application supersede the first? Or can I still use the first? Not sure why I need the second now, but is a back up if our flight was canceled and we had to rebook.
