Question for y'all: I generally work as a freelance software engineer, but at the moment, I contract with a large corporation (call it A) via a separate staffing company (call it B). So, instead of a freelance contract with A, I have an assignment agreement from B that mentions that I'll be working with A.

The visa application asks for evidence of "digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status." So I wrote a cover letter (attached) explaining that I'm generally a freelance software engineer, and furthermore explaining the situation above about my current employment. In that PDF, I also include my assignment agreement per above, as well as several past contracts where I truly was a freelancer.

Should that suffice? Will there be any confusion about my employment situation?

Thanks!

Good Morning Group,

I applied for my online queue # for my upcoming Monday immigration check in to report my TM-47. Although I’ve grabbed a queue # I felt like it didn’t matter and was still stuck in line for over 2 hours just to check in with desk person to verify my documents. Could maybe someone who has gone this route at Division 1 immigration explain to me what I am doing wrong. Do I still need to show up hours before my scheduled 8:30am queue line appointment to wait in line…? This is my 1st report for my TM 47. I originally went to IT Square before to apply for my Returning Thai National 1yr visa but they are sending me to the main immigration place next to it. Also will those print shops businesses be open early AM so I can make copies? I’ve never been to main Division 1 place only the IT SQ place.

Hey everyone!

Just asking for maybe some advice / insight on what would be best to do.

My wife and I are planning to move to Thailand in September. We’re currently staying in the Canary Islands (not registered here though).

Now, we want to get a DTV visa (Muay Thai), and I have over a million baht in my account, but not for longer than 3 months yet. In the end of November I will get an additional 1.5 million deposit into my account so there would be plenty in terms of ‘$$’ in my account to cover us both.

Now we’re thinking to fly to Thailand mid September on a visa exemption on arrival (60 days), then extend with another 30 days AND THEN fly to a neighboring country to get our DTV visas done there.

We’re also thinking about getting a condo in Thailand when we arrive, but I understand that most landlords only allow a minimum stay / contract of 1 year, which is totally fine with us, but ‘what if’ our DTV visas for some reason wouldnt be approved, ‘what then?’ Is kinda what we’re thinking.. Is it then possible to fly to Thailand anyway and for example get an ED visa instead? We’ve only been to Thailand once last year for 3 weeks so no overstay/borderruns etc etc..

Just kinda looking into how maybe some of you have done it and maybe have some advice?

Many thanks yall!!

I'll be applying for the DTV from within the UK. I would prefer to use the workcation option for the application but I have not kept 500k bhat in a bank account for 3 successive months. I would like to know whether it's still possible to submit an application with the final statement showing evidence of 500k or would it be more suitable to apply for the soft power DTV options?

I have put my intended date of arrival and departure on the application, it is now asking for my flight number, I am advised by this group previously not to book a flight until I get the DTV. What have people done previously??

Thanks again

Hi all, can anyone please advise on what would happen to a DTV with several years remaining if you were to obtain a Thai work permit? Would the DTV be automatically cancelled or would it still be active, if the foreign-based position was continued concurrently? If it is indeed cancelled, is this absolute, or just "paused"? Say if you left the local company could it be resumed again until the 5 years is up? Thanks.

Hello All. Thank you for all the information here!

It’s a pity I only discovered this group after submitting my application...

I’ve recently submitted my documents for the Destination Thailand Visa application. The consulate requested additional materials twice, and I’ve now provided everything they asked for.

I’m an artist and have organized exhibitions of my work internationally. In my application, I included a portfolio shwoing my past exhibitions, awards, and media coverage. In my self-introduction letter, I also mentioned that "*I* *hope to organize exhibitions in Thailand and engage with the local art community*."

I’m now wondering: could this be interpreted as seeking employment or commercial activity in Thailand, and potentially affect my application outcome?

I’d be grateful for any insights or experiences you might be willing to share.

P.S. I just understood from this community that it should be a letter of intent and not a self introduction letter ... I wish I discovered this group earlier!

Hey everyone 👋

I’m filling out my DTV visa application and it asks for an arrival date. I haven’t booked my flights yet, so I’m wondering:

• If I put a certain arrival date on my application, can I still enter Thailand earlier or later than that?

• How much flexibility do I actually have as long as I arrive within the visa’s validity period?
