it is funny because the first time, i apply for a visa, i asked my Embassy in Canada wich visa to apply! they said a E-visa for the three months, i did that to not having the stuggle to go to immigration! I tought by going on certified channel like the Thai Embassy, i would have the good answer! I knew about the 2 moths and 1 month extexion, but i did not want to make a trip to the immigration! Anyway, a lot of you spoke to me like i was a fool or don't know anything about Thailand! That was my first post and my first entry with a visa! The last then years i came here for two months or lest! I also had remarks about my writing, and yes i speak French and try my best to have a comprehension way to post! Some people are very blessing and i don't know why, you have more experience then i do!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their experience and confusion regarding a visa application for Thailand, as they received conflicting advice from their embassy about obtaining an e-visa for a three-month stay. They express frustration over perceived judgment from others about their understanding of Thailand's immigration rules. The comments clarify the types of visas available, explain that all visa applications are now online (e-visa), and emphasize that tourists staying over 60 days must visit immigration for extension or other issues.
Just to clarify, “e-visa” just means you apply for the visa online. Since all visas now need to be applied for online, all visas from tourist to retirement are “e-visas”. Therefore, if the embassy told you you apply for an e-visa, they really gave no advice on which one to apply for.
If i’m understanding what you’re saying you will still have to make a trip to immigration if you are staying longer than 60 days for a tourist visa
A tourist visa is valid for 90 days and gives you 60 days on entry, which you can extend at immigration for another 30. It’s not a visa that lets you stay for 90 days without going to immigration.
The answer from the embassy was correct. The visa ( it is the document allows you to enter thailand ) is valid for 3 months for you to use it. A Tourist visa then allows you to be stamped in for 60 days. You can extend that by 30 days.
