Hello,

I hold a METV and i Applied for DTV in Jakarta and the embassy asked me to contact the issuing embassy to cancel the METV. I already contacted the issuing embassy and they say they can’t cancel the visa. I’ve seen some people managed to cancel their METV. Could you please share how you managed that? Could you please share what proof of voided visa looks like so i can share with the issuing embassy?

Summary so far

The user is seeking advice on how to cancel their METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) after being instructed by the embassy to contact the issuing authority, which has refused to cancel it. There is a discussion in the comments about the issuing embassy's role in the cancellation process and the difficulties others have faced when trying to cancel their visas.

If the issuing Embassy won’t cancel it you are stuck with it. Why on earth would you try to apply for a DTV when you already have a good visa. I’m going to me next big Chang and think about it 🍺🍺🍺

Only the issuing embassy can cancel the visa. It seems to be very hard/almost impossible to do. I assume if any others were successful, it was because they had a different issuing embassy than you. How much time do you have left on your METV?

The embassy will be able to see if it is cancelled on their system but it does look like the issuing embassy has to cancel it.
