If you had to choose between gulf of Thailand’s East Coast and West Coast for Retirement, which one would you pick — and why?

I’m especially curious about your experiences with:

* Weather comfort (humidity, storms, seasonal differences)

* Cultural feel (local lifestyle, community vibe, authenticity)

* Active lifestyle options (bike-friendly long routes, outdoor sports, walking areas, etc.)

And if you think neither coast is ideal, I’d love to hear your alternative suggestions too! 🙏

Hi guys,

I am due for my first 90-day reporting and I have a question about the process. Can I just show up to my nearest immigration office anytime with my documents, or should I book an appointmnt first? Thanks.

Modification to a previous question due to personal circumstances:

Although I have a 90 Non-O visa, Based on visiting Thai family, our plans changed a couple of weeks ago and now have to return to UK after only 58 days in Thailand. Can I still use the visa even though I cannot now extend it by 12 months as was our original plan? I was wondering how to I complete the TDAC form is it now classed as a 'Holiday' or can I sill put visiting family in Thailand as 'Other'?

We last left Thailand after a 58 day visit early April this year, so would I be classed as suspiscious under the new immigration clampdown? Does the 90 day visa have to be 90 days in Thailand or or it is not that restrictive?

Hi, I went to book an appointment for my driver's license and Bangkok is booked until late Feb! Is it ok to book elsewhere? Samut Sakhon is convenient for me (my wife works there) and they have availability in December.

Dtv experience Nepal

Hello everyone. Thanks for being super helpful in my DTV journey - so I wanted to share mine for others

I did my dtv in Nepal because I have always wanted to visit this country.. Not many experiences here so far so that part was a bit less clear but the process itself was smooth other than my natural tendency for anxiety 🙂

I did soft power using Discover Thai nature which is a program I’m really interested in and they have been incredibly helpful.

Nepali embassy was easy to reach via phone and supportive in my preparation . I have a US passport and I could apply in Nepal, but I think not every country is allowed so I recommend you check by calling

The biggest complication compared to other countries was that Nepal embassy asks plane tickets into and out of the country as well as accommodation booking. I attached these to my documents without being asked for extra documents because I already knew from calling. The other complication is that they do not accept online payment - so you must get a manager’s cheque at IME bank using the QR code you get when you finish your application. It costs ₹50,000 to apply here. Then you must take the cheque to the embassy for application to be complete.

I applied on November 17 Monday. November 21st, Friday I got an email asking me to come in for an interview on November 24, Monday.

Interview was mostly about finances, but I was happy to share my intentions, short-term and long-term in Thailand. I was pretty nervous- but that’s my anxious nature 🙂 overall staff in Nepali embassy both Thai and Nepali were lovely.

I got my approval in less than two hours.

I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and live in Thailand. Good luck to everyone aiming for the same.

Hello all, I have a Non-O visa based on marriage with my 90-day stamp expiring on 22 December. I want to do the 1-year extension and tried to make a booking at CW online but there are no slots available in December. Is my only option to walk in? I did see slots available at Laksi, but from what I can see is that they will only do a short-term extension there? It's been a while since I've done the extension in country so any guidance is appreciated.

Currently doing my DTV with workaction.

I got a request to send "employment letter with detail of describe how it is your job to be for remote worker".

Here is the thing, my work thinks i'm going to do remote work from somewhere in Europe. I don't want to mention Thailand, because of envy and other reasons that will complicate my position.

Do the visa workers usually call in to your work to confirm the remote work?
