I was just there, they weren't interested in my proof of onward travel, bank statement and proof of residence.

They are handing them out like hot cakes from what I can see and quite helpful.

Re- entry stamp. 1000 baht and can get from local immigration, airport or most land boarders.

You should write that down and report back with results.

There have been reports of immigration officers actually checking the residences you are registered to. I would imagine it all ties in with the new rule of informing immigration every time you move or change residence within 24 hours.

Some consulates are refusing to grant visas without Thai address! This was today in Vientiane.

Why was my father stopped at the airport after obtaining a tourist visa for Thailand?

If you don't have a visa already in your passport they won't let you fly without a return.

The airline saw that I didn't have a return ticket and initially refused me boarding. That was until I pointed out that I already had a visa in my passport secured from the Thai consulate in London.
