When on a 60 day single entry visa (or 30 day extension of the one) is there any way of leaving the country and returning with the same visa? I've heard you can do something in the immigration and "pay to make it a double entry" or something.. Any info on this? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A single entry tourist visa for Thailand allows a maximum stay of 60 days, and if you leave the country, the visa cannot be reused or renewed. However, you can apply for a re-entry permit at local immigration offices, airports, or land borders to return without losing your original entry dates. The re-entry permit costs 1000 THB and requires an application form, a passport photo, and copies of your passport ID page, visa page, and admission stamp. This process does not extend your stay; you simply return with the same 'admitted to stay' date as before.

It's a SINGLE entry visa for a maximum stay of 60 days and even if you leave after just one day, it expires. Simple.

Now, you can extend those 60 days at any immigration for a further 30 days at a cost of 1900 THB. Same as before, the moment you leave, it expires as it's just an extension of your SINGLE entry tourist visa.

Now you could get a re-entry permit but that doesn't make sense on a tourist visa. You will not get more days. Just exit the country and come back and get an other 30 days.

It won't give you more time to stay in Thailand though

Re- entry stamp. 1000 baht and can get from local immigration, airport or most land boarders.

The visa contains data details and is stamped Used, you can not renew or use that visa again. Many people make it confusing by advertising: Renew your visa but what they mean is, go to a Conslulate or Embassy and apply for a NEW visa. What is possible is that you buy a Re-Entry ticket so you can leave the country and come back before the Admitted to stay date in your passport, but it would not give you extra days in Thailand.

If you are in Thailand you can stay till the Admitted to Stay date in your passport. If you have to leave Thailand and come back before that date you can apply for a Re-Entry permit. When you re-enter Thailand you will get the same Admitted to Stay date stamped in your Passport. It is not a Multiple Entry Visa. FOR EXAMPLE: You have Single Entry Tourist Visa, Admitted to stay 60 days, lets say till 27 July 2017, you need to go abroad from 3 till 10 july, with the re-entry permit you can come back on the 10th July and will get again Admitted to Stay till 27 July.

What is re-entry ticket? Do you mean I can get multiple entry visa instead of single entry one?
