@Tod ********
interesting that they no longer do tm6 upon entering the country. If one is to file tm30 have they removed the tm6 question? I just landed and usually register myself as I am the owner.

the balance can fall below 800k for a limited time. I don't recall exactly but I think it must be 800k for 2 months before your yearly renewal and 3 months after. The other months it can drop. Alo you can do a combination of money in the bank with monthly importation of funds. There must be a formula for that.

I suggest using a fixed term account so you can at least accrue minimal interest. I set mine up with 4 deposits of 200k. That way if I must get some fast cash I need not disturb the entire 800k at once.

I left old and new passports at immigration for one day. They stamped the new passport with the updated visa. Before I decided to get a new passport I did check with the local immigration office to learn of the process. They assured me it can be done at no cost. In my case they did request documents from the passport issuing agency. In fact I only had a receipt which was accepted.

The part of your question that I think is important.. "do the immigration accept if I pull out money and deposit it here" please check if I am wrong but the origin of the 800k baht is not put to question. In my experience they are looking for 800k baht in your Thai bank account for a certain amount of time verified through letter from your bank.

thank you very much, let me also ask. About how long does it generally take to get the 12 month extension? (I am trying to time everything as I have several international trips to work around)

I just got a non o visa for 90 days in Vientiane last week. I submitted the following - copy of my resume, copy of passport and Lao visa, letter from Bank in Thailand showing requisite funds for over 2 months, copy of my condo documents, police background check (obtained it in udon thani- took one week to get), certificate of health from a clinic. Cost was 2000 baht for the visa, 100 for medical, 100 for police check, 200 for bank letter. Hope they helps...

After repeated errors using a browser on my laptop I found that the Android app version works without flaw. Can I suggest you give the Android app a try?
