I am an Australian passport holder and permanent resident in Sydney. Am over 55 and investigating the Non Immigrant O-X (5 year) Retirement Visa.
Have seen conflicting 'Proof of funds' criteria, depending what Thai Consulate/HC i check. Some say THB 3million in Thai bank, located in Thailand. Others mention AUD 150k in Australian bank in Sydney, for example.
So I emailed the Thai Consulate in Sydney and asked them if i could qualify for the O-X based on holding AUD 150k in an Aussie bank. They said yes. Can.
Am interested if anyone else has successfully applied for an O-X visa using funds from your home country/bank?
About the 800k in a bank account for the extension of stay, retirement visa , does it have to be in a regular bank account or can it be place in investment fund in thai bank ?
Hubby has O visa, multiple entry. If he wants to get an extension or renewal, is it he that needs a Thai Bank Account with funds? Does it matter if it's in my, his wife's, name?
To get a signed affidavit, must he go to our embassy, or can he get it done here in Thailand by a solicitor?
