I was approved for my non-o retirement visa. Now, I wait for 60 days to apply for my 12 month extension. Once the 12 months extension is approved and I stay for a year. Do I reapply for the non-o visa again after the 12 months extension runs out? Or do I just keep applying for the 12 months extension every year?

Has anyone recently renewed their 12 month extension of stay, based on retirement at Koh Samui Immigration? Are there additional requirements now due to the Covid 19 situation? Any info appreciated as this will save me an extra trip from Koh Phangan.

Update on my quest for a non immigrant o 12 month extension based on over 50 years old. Friends, in case it may help.. I got a new passport during the 90 non imm o time period so step 1 was to transfer the visa from old to new passport. That is a free process at jomtien immigration and it had taken 1 day. My paperwork is in order for the 12 month extension so I will fetch my passport tomorrow- total of 3 visits to accomplish the task. Anyhow of importance... If you file tm30 via app as I do then you need to also bring a paper print out or get one done at immigration. They seem to agree if I printed a phone screenshot. But I opted to get the paper version done at the tm30 desk. Anyhow, proof of tm30 did not appear on the list of requirements for the 12 month extension, it was requested at the last moment as I handed in my previously twice checked documents. So please take note. Otherwise everything has gone smoothly, jomtien immigration has been chock full the past few days. I'll get my passport tomorrow and immediately apply for a multi entry permit if the lines are not scary long.
