My apologies for what is probably an often asked question. I have a Non-Imm O 90 day (based on retirement) I have visited the Jomtien Immigration office and have the list of requirements (no issues by the list). I asked Jomtien Immigration for the soonest date I could apply for the 12 month extension, they say 1 month before expiry. I failed to ask what is the last day I could apply? The reason I wish such specifics is because I travel in and out of the country - usually each month.
So my question to this group - with my non-imm O expiring on 3 March, what is the last safe day to apply for the 12 month extension? how long does it generally take to get the 12 month extension and a multi-entry permit?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The last safe day to apply for a 12-month extension on a Non-Imm O visa is the last working day before the visa's expiration date, which in this case is likely the last working day before March 3rd. Note that the extension may not be issued the same day, and Jomtien Immigration may conduct home visits for retirement extensions.
