December 2019 I had a lot of trouble with the tourist visa as immigration accused me of working, even though it was purely a holiday. Best to make sure you have booked a flight out of Thailand before the visa expires.

My understanding is that unless they are travelling back in more than 4 times then why bother. A multiple will cost just under 4k whether you use it or not whereas a single entry will cost 1k each time.
