Looking at flights London to Bangkok in Jan.

Eva air direct

Thai airways direct

Oman air 1 stop in Muscat

All priced about the same. Not flown with any of these airlines. Grateful for any opinions on which is best? 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers considering flights from London to Bangkok express varying preferences among EVA Air, Thai Airways, and Oman Air. Many recommend EVA Air for its comfort and consistent service, noting that Economy Plus offers a great experience. Thai Airways is also favored for direct flights, with some passengers asserting it is a reputable carrier despite mixed reviews in recent years. Oman Air is seen as a good alternative for those who prefer a break with a single stopover in Muscat.

The food on Thai sucks- unless tou fly business

Eva direct been flying with them for 25 years
Dan *********
Thai airways is always good.
Paul ********
Oman Air great fly them all the time. You only have 1 hour wait in Muscat before the next flight. 5.30 hrs from muscat to Bangkok.
David ********
If you like a break to stretch your legs and breath normal air, then Oman is a good option. I've done their route twice and it's have no qualms booking them again.

If you prefer to do the long haul and get it over with, I'd say EVA is definitely the better option at the moment

David Hattan "at the moment" with Eva being from Taiwan?

@Graham *****
does EVA being from Taiwan have any relevance

Eva Air is fantastic
Jamie ********
Oman Air 👌 it's nice to have a little stop half way, have a break and stretch your legs. 11 or 12 hours or whatever is, is a long time to be sat on the same plane 😩

Eva or Thai both good and direct, always better than a stop.
Ian ********
Choose Evaair good carriers
Brett **********
If you want direct them Eva. If you prefer the journey broken a bit then Oman are very good and you can get lounge access with showers for not much money. If you've got the time maybe even do a day in Muscat on an extended layover if you can
Ashley ********
Thai Airways has 2 direct flights . 11:50am arriving in bkk around 6amish and also a 21:25 arriving at approx 3pm.
Sophie *********
Eva is good, especially pre pandemic as their flights weren't always totally rammed. Things may be different now though..
Richard *******
Always found Eva Air outstanding 👍
Marc ********
Thai airways is good. And straight flight.

Why would you transit somewhere else first?
Pygo ********
@Marc *******
I'm flying with Singapore, the reason I'm transitting somewhere else first is because Singapore Airlines are far superior to Thai...
Iain ******
I had an email from Thai Air last night.

They changed my direct flight to Phuket to one transiting through Bangkok ...

Just to make you aware .
Rob *******
Oman air always good. Brand new airport, great lounges, good airline similar Qatar

Thai if you go direct . There’s a lot of Thai bashing and it will never stop. Thai airways is a fine carrier. Had a great flight at the end of May and will fly again in mid October

Andy **********
@Dana ******
When did you last fly Thsi ? 10 years ago ?
Karim ***************
@Dana ******
have you ever flown EVA?
Jim ********
Eva direct still a good bet. Had a few issues with delays of a hour and a bit on my last 2 flights, but other than that all good.
Brandon ************
Are you sure the EVA flight isn't just a codeshare on Thai airways. It's generally illegal for airlines to have flights between 2 countries that they aren't based in and EVA is in Taiwan.
Keith ******
@Brandon ***********
Eva Air flys from Taiwan to London Heathrow via Bangkok & return with a crew change @ Bangkok before the same plane continues the journey.

Definitely not a codeshare & both airlines use their own liveried aircraft.

Eva Air are a far better service than Thai Airways, I’ve flown both airlines many times but will always choose Eva Air when possible.
Brandon ************
@Keith *****
if it's an option I'd definitely take EVA after the Thai airways bankruptcy debacle and then screwing over so many people
Karim ***************
@Keith *****
completely agree. EVA are the best direct airline between London and Bangkok. Glad they resumed flights.
Mma *******
All are good. Personally I'd go direct with Thai Airway FWIW.
Karim ***************
@Mma ******
