Hi,

I've just received my new uk passport so need to go to Jomtien immigration to transfer my existing visa, stamps etc.

Apart from the old passport and letter from the British embassy is there any other paperwork needed. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your existing visa and stamps from an old UK passport to a new one at Jomtien Immigration, you will need to provide the following paperwork: your old passport, new passport, a letter from the British embassy, and possibly a change passport form obtained at the office. While some users indicated that copies of passports and stamps might not be required depending on the immigration office, others suggested it could vary, with some offices being stricter than others. It's also advisable to bring some cash for any fees that might be charged for services or copies.

Does not sound like there is any consistency across the various offices. TiT thing.

You we’re scammed. Transferring stamps should be free. Perhaps they make that charge for doing all the copies you need for you. Not sure which is better. 20 baht to do copies yourself or 500 baht for them to do it for you.

Copy of old passport, copy of latest stamp, copy of new passport, letter from embassy and fill in a change passport form (get at the office).

Jomtien seems to be one of the strictest so I will get copies of passports and stamps

OP asked what paperwork they needed to get stamps transferred from one passport to another. Sort of a bit of a given that you’d need the passports to be able to do that.

@Stuart ********
but you dont need any Copies of passports

That may be office dependent. I’m not aware of any that don’t require copies.

I did mine and did not need anything to transfer the visa stamp. Did not cost anything and that was last year unless something has changed

"Paperwork needed"....maybe some THB bills to "pay" for the stamp transfer?

Another TM-8 for re-entry permit if required and some more THB for the stamp.

Don't forget your blue ink pen...🤔

Unless they do something different just keep both passports your visas are still valid

the old passport is now invalid and I'm looking to travel to Vietnam soon so not sure if I would have a problem with retirement visa being in an old passport

be carefull, i also thought i could use old passport with visa, it is the case for some countries, but in Thailand visa must be transfered to the new passport

get it transferred and if it's not an OA retirement visa then make sure you get a re-entry permit in your new passport along with your visa extension.
