Did I reply to the poster or did I reply to your unhelpful, sarcastic reply to the OP, calling YOU out as the "arsehole" here? Do you know how reply trees work even?... That's rhetorical.
Apologies... Let me explain that one:
Rhetorical: adjective
/rɪˈtɒrɪkl/
- (of a question) asked only to make a statement or to produce an effect rather than to get an answer
personally, I've only been in the country once in my entire life, this year. So the using visa-free entry "over and over" again thing doesn't apply to me. But I have planned on returning once this year after spending some time in other SEA countries, then returning back to NYC for a while.
It's the inconsistency of clear communication that annoys me. But then again, that's Thailand I guess. Say one thing do everything else. 🤷🏻♂️
I understand this, but then why even bother changing the visa exempt and allowing at least 1 re-entry officially on the books if they're going to turn around and pull this bullshit?
While simultaneously putting out statements about how they want to "Attract More Tourism". Let's build casinos, let's ease more visa restrictions for this country and that country, let's attract MORE tourists this way and thay way. Honestly sounds like they can't tell their heads from their A-holes.
And some point people will just start saying well F you and F Thailand, I'll spend my money on your neighboring competitors and turn right around. And I wouldn't blame them one bit.
How many times has he been to Thailand? Total. I did my first entry to Thailand (ever) for 60+30 exemption. I am in Laos for 3 weeks, then plan to return via Nong Khai for another 60+30, then return to my home country for a while.
So my history in Thailand is clean. Only one entry, ever. Has your friend had more history in Thailand?
The US automatically assumes every person coming in will attempt to live in the US and overstay their visa. This has been the practice for years. Nothing to do with Trump, although I don't imagine any easing of that mindset under him.
Sure. And there are literally hundreds of VOIP alternatives to Skype that can make those calls. A 30 second or less Google search will list the top choices with a breakdown of each. 10 seconds using AI search. Skype hasn't been the only game in town for a long time now. Posting on FB, waiting, and then sifting through dozens, if not hundreds of opinion replies is like searching for answers on dial-up BBS's.
