Just a quick question regarding a 60 day Visa exempt trip. During the 60 days, would you be able to exit Thailand to visit Laos or Myanmar and then return the same day/following day, without any re-entry issues?
Hi everyone. I have a serious problem. I have family in Thailand — my child and my partner. We’re not married, and I need to get parental rights through a Thai court, so we hired a lawyer. When my exemption stay ended, I left for Vietnam for 45 days and then flew back to DMK a few days ago.
What happened there was shocking. Many people were denied entry. I had all documents — a letter from my lawyer, invitation from my partner’s family, Thai bank statement, my child’s birth certificate — but they didn’t look at anything. They just said I “can’t enter for the third time,” took my passport, and put me in the detention room for the night. The conditions were terrible.
The main issue: they didn’t put any stamp in my passport. No denied entry, nothing. The next day, after returning to Vietnam, I applied for a tourist visa with all documents and clearly stated that I want to visit my family for the holidays. The next day I got a simple “your visa application has been rejected.” No explanation. Embassy and e-visa center won’t tell us anything.
Now I don’t know what to do. I’m planning to fly to Vientiane, try to enter by land, and if they refuse me again, I want to apply for a Non-O visa at the Thai embassy there. But I’ve already lost so much money that I’m afraid of another rejection.
If anyone has experience with this situation, please share advice. I just want to be with my family for Christmas. Thank you.
Update: Got pulled to the side at airport. Warned that they will not accept such visa trips anymore. So was left in with warning that next time only visa, if I want to stay longer then 2 months. So I guess, the visa renewal trips will get harder in future.
I only showed rental contract after the red button was pushed. Because they did not ask about hotel etc, and no question asked about contract.
And in Vietnam, all was checked for onward ticket out of Thailand. About 10 people was pulled aside, some made it throu after paying expensive tickets (onwardticket was to slow) others did not board plane.
^^
I know there are no real answer to this, and it's down to immigration officer.
But I wounder if peoples have been denied entry under same conditions.
Every year, I visit Thailand from January to April. And last 2 years also 1 month in October.
Before I used 60 days tourist visa with extension by immigration office or fly out on 4-5 days trip.
I rent all year apartment because it gives better renting options and I avoid alot of fuss dragging luggage.
I'm currently in Vietnam, and returning today after 4 days trip. For new 60 days.
I have returning ticket to Norway 29 April, so within the new 60 days.
I have rental contract and 20.000thb in cash when entering.
I have zero overstay or any problem with police/immigration. Or never late on renewal
Anyone been denied reentry on such conditions?
Also, what agents/price that offers guarantees on reentry 60 day exemption.
i got my DTV and i am searching for a thai bank to open account (I am in bangkok now) but right now all banks told me they cant open with DTV visa, anyone had same experience? any advice? thank you
Arrived in Nonthaburi last Wednesday from the uk on a 90 day tourist visa with a view to retirement here. Need a bank account to deposit the necessary funds. Having read this probably wouldn't be easy I today, with a Thai friend approached five different branches to see if I could open an account. Although explaining I am retired all of them wanted to see my work permit !! And without it I can't open an account. Also there was mention of proof of where I am staying. Can anyone advise please. Would be most appreciated.
i was in Thailand, on a Non-Imm ED Visa with a lot of Covid stamps almost 2,5 years. on the 25.3.22 i fly to Cambodia, i apply for a new Tourist e-Visa , and made Thai Pass and everything. I had a Paper from my School, that proves, i came back on Tourist, just for can change to my new ED-Visa inside of Thailand to learn Thai. However they did not let me Enter, because they said i stay in Thailand for too long. And put me in the Airport Prison for 2 days, and today i had to fly back to Cambodia. What i can do now, to come back to Thailand. Any Suggestions ? TIA
Looks like travelling on a 30 day tourist visa is out without valid reason, I've just been refused boarding at heathrow, have everything else but she says now you have to show proof why you are travelling.
