Since the DTV was launched I have been hearing of more people staying in the country indefinitely on tourist visas facing issues coming back in.

Have any of you noticed this?

Arrived in Nonthaburi last Wednesday from the uk on a 90 day tourist visa with a view to retirement here. Need a bank account to deposit the necessary funds. Having read this probably wouldn't be easy I today, with a Thai friend approached five different branches to see if I could open an account. Although explaining I am retired all of them wanted to see my work permit !! And without it I can't open an account. Also there was mention of proof of where I am staying. Can anyone advise please. Would be most appreciated.

Hello, i just got Denied to Entry in BKK.

i was in Thailand, on a Non-Imm ED Visa with a lot of Covid stamps almost 2,5 years. on the 25.3.22 i fly to Cambodia, i apply for a new Tourist e-Visa , and made Thai Pass and everything. I had a Paper from my School, that proves, i came back on Tourist, just for can change to my new ED-Visa inside of Thailand to learn Thai. However they did not let me Enter, because they said i stay in Thailand for too long. And put me in the Airport Prison for 2 days, and today i had to fly back to Cambodia. What i can do now, to come back to Thailand. Any Suggestions ? TIA

Looks like travelling on a 30 day tourist visa is out without valid reason, I've just been refused boarding at heathrow, have everything else but she says now you have to show proof why you are travelling.

Someone can tell me I have two time void tourist Visa bcz of my stupid agent he didn't submit my complete documents in thai embassy. Now I want apply NON B Visa can I get easy or not.

Hi everyone, a friend just got his Tourist Visa application denied at Phnom Penh. Reason: "Applicant has entered Thailand frequently and for long durations using tourist visas".

Now he is looking for the best way to re-enter Thailand.

He is French passport holder and can't re-enter by land since he's already done that twice this year.

That would be his last entry before he finishes the paperwork to open his company here and then can switch to an appropriate visa instead of tourist.

If anyone knowledgeable has any information it would be very appreciated.

Please keep it constructive, we all already know that tourist visas are not the appropriate way for frequent and long stays.

I friend of mine has just been denied entry at Suvarnabhumi and is in a complete state. She has a single entry tourist visa from the Embassy in Dublin (Irish passport holder) and it's her second trip this year. First one was on a visa exempt entry. She made one trip last year. She is waiting for the airline to organize her return back home. She had all of the required documents. Funds, return ticket, hotel booking. She wants to know if there is anything she can do? She asked about appealing the decision, but the immigration officer said they would then hold her for about 5 days pending the decision if she chose to go that route.

Help! Denied Visa Extension in Pnom Penh. It was written in small handwriting on the bottom. I just noticed it in my flight to Bangkok leaves in two hours. I am traveling with my Thai fiancé. Should I fly to Bangkok anyway and hope for better results when I arrive?

UPDATE: thank you all for the advice and help. I’ve decided since my girlfriend is with me and since during my last visa extension I put proof of residence into the system, I am going to try flying to Bangkok. I don’t have 20,000 baht on me but I can show my current bank balance which thankfully is over that.

My fiancé is prepared to raise hell if need be so I have a chance. I will keep you guys updated. Thank you so much for all the help.

Final update: I made it through Bangkok immigration. They let me in but told me that I need to change my visa
