you are correct, how about: “a paradoxical situation where one is trapped by contradictory rules or conditions.” You need a bank account to put 400k into escrow to obtain a marriage license and they were telling me that I need to use my application for a marriage license to open a bank account? Maybe not quite, but close enough. Were you, or are you a university professor?

that’s what we thought, but SBC bank said because we wanted to convert from O to Marriage they needed the translation version! We got an account to move the ball positive direction!

Thanks everyone. Opened an account at Krungsri bank. They were great and didn’t require the same as SBC. Will still need to translate and “legalize”. Thanks again for all your help!

thank you, should’ve included what we do have. Already have the Visa Non O. Have a certificate of residency and a Thai number. Just landed in Thailand and went to the bank and they requested out marriage documents, that have been substantiated by all USA agencies to be translated into Thai.

yes there is. I was not sure in getting my visa too early but finally received a good explanation and thought that others may be interested.
