your current contract, landlord ID etc (everything they should be giving you a copy of when you sign anyway) & your passport. When you go to immigration, they’ll confirm you have all your documents before you even get a queue number
not sure how your “joke” is either helpful or relevant… we don’t know this person or whether or not they’ve visited with each other elsewhere.. maybe they want to be able to come to their family’s HOMELAND and not always have to make extra arrangements.
I don’t think it’s a huge deal.. right now you’ll (mostly likely) be here on visa exempt for 60 days (depending on your passport/what country you’re coming from). At any point, you can leave Thailand and when you re-enter, your new visa will then be active, at that point, your 180 days will start.
For me, I made a pdf document that included multiple screenshots of years worth of leases with both of our names and that explained our situation. As well as a few utility bills (like phone bill, rental insurance, etc.) that listed both of our names. Needed this for “proof of marriage” for our children’s visas and it ended up working for us
If you do have to go home, You can actually get an expedited passport same day if you show them your travel arrangements & schedule an appointment at an official passport agency, rather than applying through a library or post office! I did this for both me and my son. Had an appointment at 8 am, our passports were ready by 1pm! So worst case scenario, you could possibly travel back, not have to wait months, and be back in time for your holiday plans! Let me know if you want me to send you more info!
