You are correct. 60 exemption on arrival but ,at least from Canada, you can apply for a tourist of 2 months and can be extended to 4 months with either a visit to Immigration or a border run.

All true and and add in high unemployment and zero vacancy rates thanks to the flood of newcomers. Only good price on anything lol is black market cigarettes. And the only reason for that is they come through Native reserves. Don't get me started on domestic flights.

But seriously for all the hand wringing from the Thai about dropping tourist numbers why don't they allow longer visas.?

Having said that I have never been questioned coming and going to BKK.

IF the really start to grill people it would come to a standstill. Earlier this year I found it easier than ever. Swipe passport and go.

But Thailand keeps changing these things.

You will get a Thailand bank account as part of the application process. (Assume you are getting a retirement visa)
