Was going to say the same thing. Lady who was detained was entering through Mexico on what I think was an expired visa.

Going from Canada there is pre-clearance so you would jus be denied entry .

Granted any criminal record can be a problem, many are denied over 40 years old pot charges for example.

I think duty free is actually cheaper now in Thailand. 7 11 will be 150 ish a pack while airport duty free will be less.

BKK for some reason has very limited selection, no Marlboro for example.

Often you will connect at another airport in Asia where you can also shop.

As for B&H not sure honestly I don't look for them.

Really should be 60 with the numbers that stay awhile. Also keeps money , myself I do border runs if needed rather than extend here.

Thanks, hadn't realized that about staff. But they are the ones will give you headaches. Last year I had a flight 31 days until departure from BKK, and they practically had a staff meeting over it. That's why I asked about this one. Thailand it won't be an issue, they thumb print you and about it. Issue would be if you overstay, Thailand are not going to examine bank statements and return tickets, place would come to a standstill. Thx

I did this last year. You can go to an agent and get a ticket to Siem Reap, Might have cost about 2k but forget. You will change bus a couple time but its all very easy to do. And its a vey nice town and of course do Angkor while there. Every time someone asks this everyone says just go to Immigration, but a side trip like this can be the highlight of your trip, was for me.

Thanks I actually was not aware they can ask to see 20k. Not a problem as for hotel I always book at least first few nights, also that is on the arrival card too.

Yea they worry about being responsible if person is denied entry.
