I used Jetstar. It's my only experience flying in Asia. I'm new here. The entire experience with Jetstar was great, friendly, comfortable seats, fast boarding process, etc...Cheap airline but very good 👍
I have AIS, no work permit required. Perfect service everywhere. I have unlimited data and calls in Thailand for very cheap, I remember being shocked at the bill, can't remember how much exactly, but I paid around 2 or 3k baht for 2 cell phones, for 6 months.
The cost of one month cell service back in the US gets me 2 phones for 6 months here.
For the cost of an extension (1900 baht I believe is the rumor), you could almost fly somewhere and back. My family and I are on DTV, and we went to Singapore from Krabi for a few thousand baht each, then you don't have to pay for an extension. One could even go somewhere closer and cheaper. Just something to consider when deciding to extend or border hop.
Print out DTV, fold it so they can scan the barcode, put it in your passport bio page. That will save time. As said above, the longest part will be figuring out 180 days to put that date to stamp your passport.
Yes, very easy. Go to immigration with the following:
1. Take a copy of your TM 30 (Proof of Residence) - I used a printed out picture of the website where the landlord registered us.
2. Copy of passport
3. Copy of DTV
500 Baht if you want it immediately, free if you wait a day and come back to pick it up.
You will need a separate piece of paper for each thing you want to do. For instance, purchasing a scooter, car, and getting a Thai drivers license all require separate piece of paper specifying what it's for.
I am currently renting one for a week because we had similar thoughts before finding out how dangerous they are. I wouldn't reccomended it. They take some strength to drive and are very uncomfortable for passengers, especially any bumps. If you want to test drive one for yourself contact Mr. Thor Rentals. I return it tomorrow.
Mad respect for these little Thai women driving these things. 💪 💪
I went to immigration the other day to get a certificate of residency to open a bank and purchase a vehicle. When we were finished the immigration officer said he would see me in 180 days, which left me confused to the requirement of 90 days as well.
