there is no clear answer right now. I’d work on the assumption that the 800k is probably safe from tax (as taxing it would cause it to drop below the mandatory amount) and that all income transferred into the current account is likely to be taxed.

US embassy will not provide income confirmation. If you have the 800k in a Thai bank the Thai bank will issue a confirmation specifically tailored for immigration. If you want to shift to the 65k a month they can do the same. In both cases you’ll need your bank book

Re the 65k- watch exchange rates to make sure you are always above 65k and over the next couple years watch politics for cuts to SS

it’s being implemented on post first. They are “studying” how to do it for express carriers - even though that’s actually very easy. The express carriers are kicking up a huge fuss “oh no! It’s so hard! We can’t do it! Business will die!” That is complete BS as it’s already been done in AU, NZ, MY, Singapore and 27 EU countries without huge drama. It’s coming
