I am also retiring and want the DTV with the soft power option. I have emailed a Muay Thai gym asking if they can supply a letter of registration on a course. I am still waiting.

Are there cooking schools in Thailand offering 6-month courses for the DTV visa, and what are their costs?

someone posted the other day saying they called the embassy in London and they were accepting 3 month courses in different areas. Goes to show that until you try you won’t know. I think I might stick with METV to start with and maybe apply next year for the DTV when things are a bit clearer.

I was under the impression that it was 6 months in, 6 months out and only one extension for the year over 5 year period. I may be mistaken?

Yes I’ve read that’s an issue. I will have to use an agent I guess. If all goes to plan I intend to try to get through the visa paperwork without an agent. How hard can it be! 😂 Thanks Brandon. Your advice is always solid.
