so just show up to the immigration line at the airport returning back into Thailand a few days before my visa runs out, with my insurance and they will stamp me in for another year. Have I got that correct? Thanks for this help.
so to get the second year, all you have to do is exit Thailand and return before your first year is up? You don’t have to apply for anything anywhere? This is all just done at the immigration officer who serves you when you return to Thailand? Is there any set length of time before expiring that this should be done? Eg, only in the last so many days of your original expirey date? Or anytime? Thanks for your advice.
I found I was relying on actual experiences and advice from pages like this as there is no concrete info available from the Thai embassy on the particulars. I know there is some, but some areas are left very grey. And when you are spending a lot on applications, insurance, police clearances, you really want to get it right, first time. Just got my OA in Oz. What stressful time I had. So relieved now.
Just because you get a retirement visa for Thailand doesn’t mean you are going to live there. It is also an option for over 50’s who want to holiday for longer periods than the current visa exempt and 3 month tourist visa allows. You can still remain a tax resident in Australia.
I never said any of that shit. I have never used a visa exempt outside of its intended use. I love Thailand, but let’s face it not all people affected by current changes have been abusing absolutely anything at all. Your blaming them is misplaced.
