Hi all, I have been following posts on here, though am still confused about something.

I want to get a 60 tourist visa and then once in Thailand extend for a further 30 days. However to apply for the 60 Visa in the first place they require me to provide an outward ticket within the first 60 day period. This ticket will then be useless once I apply for and receive the extension. Can I ask what is the usual/ done thing here?

Thanks for your help and advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on obtaining a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand, including how to handle the requirement of an outward ticket for the visa application when they plan to extend their stay by 30 days later. Commenters suggest options like booking a temporary onward ticket or providing flight details without needing proof of purchase. Some recommend using services that provide temporary tickets, while others mention experiences with their visa applications related to ticket requirements.

The following only works if you’re from the US. You can book a round trip flight, fully paid, and get a refund within 24 hours if the flight originates in the US.

Print your booking confirmation and use that for the visa application. Then cancel that booking, and re-book for 90 days.

Apply on line at Sydney consulate. The application form asks for flight details does not ask for proof you have booked those flights. I have done it with TR60 and

OA visa applications just looked up flights and dates and wrote them on the application form. They never questioned it

weeks before departure. Didn’t hear back from them till a few days before my flight. Didn’t want to risk my passport in that time.

yes public holidays certainly would. Sydney closed for Songkran plus their system went offline for a few days would not have helped you.

I’m the same bit confusing. Do I need a airline ticket before 60 days then fly back in to BKK and get another 30 days TIA

they are cracking down on this. Many people have been posting that the Embassy wants to see the ticket and full receipt from the airline.

Google "onward travel ticket" and rent a ticket for your visa application.

thank you. Can you recommend a reputable agency, there are so many.

It’s a shame that there is a requirement that then sets off a retard set of actions, why bother really. And I know it is every country not a Thai thing. Systems that don’t work really irk me.
