I am in the same situation. I am here checking it out on the STV first...

If I want to come back I will probably do a study Thai ED visa... Which can let you stay up to 18 months I think. Then I can commit to the elite. Elite is just a little expensive out of the gate unless you are sure you going to want to stay long term.

You can also look at opening a branch office here for your company if you can run enough of the business here to meet the requirements. Then you can sponsor yourself.

You typically apply for a visa in the country you are in...but you never said what kind of visa ie the requirements... So I am assuming you are in the US and that is why a background check in the US is required.

I am US citizen... Did the STV in Taiwan where I am resident of... Sounded like you would be required to get background check both taiwan and US.... But in the end they did not require one at all, which was convenient.

You do not need to do 90 day reports on ANY short term visa. You extend every 90 days (or less),which fulfills the requirement. Some offices do use the stamp that say you do.. But don't worry you do not and they will not let you file it.

Recommend Thai insurance, since most other foreign insurance won't pay for the government required hospital stay if you test positive and are asymptotiatic. AXA seems the best option.

Regarding children, I recommend not have them.

You far enough away, there is a chance they could change. There was some discussion of going back to 7 days quarantine as they did not find any problems with it... But the phuket 14 day announcement make it look not good. I say wait and see if it is advantageous.

@Benjamin *****
I am in the STV and that is what the documents say. No where did immagration say you can't stay after Sept 30,only that was the last time to extend.
Charles ********
You can stay after Sept 30 with stv, but you can't extend. If you are within the extention timeframe by Sept 30 (varies by office 45 to 7 days), you can extend.

@Michael *******
yes.... All it does is ask for name, passport number, etc... Provides no place to book a appointment, no indication of what vaccine, when, or how much.... Did you scan the qr code? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

There is not enough information on what this is. It says booking, but there no appointment on the form. They also ask a lot of personal information with no information on what this. When or what or how much is missing. 🤷‍♂️
