Not my office but I have heard conflicting stories from friends that use that office. As above it may be more accurate to either phone or visit the office for accurate information.
either way I'm not a mod so my continuing this is immaterial. I like things on this page just fine as they are. Accurate info with anecdotal info at the barest minimum.
The visa financial requirements are clear whether from the embassy letter or lump sum. the confusing thin g is the huge variance in not only what a particular bank will do but also a particular branch of that bank. No one can give consistently accurate advice on what a particular branch will agree to. There are far too many. Just look at opening an account. I went to four different banks and they all had different requirements. Not only that but different branch's of the same bank had different requirements as well. pening an account is not new and they can't get it consistent. The income letter requirement is new. How many different areas do you think this page can effectively give good sound advice on. You would need a person in almost every city constantly going to each bank and asking them. If we rely on anecdotal evidence from kbank Chiang mai to deal with scb thus him it's not gonna work is it. TW have been shown to be a problem since February this year when expatscstarted checking if it showed international transfers and they didn't. The situation is obviously unresolved. Simply change method of transfer making sure your receiving bank shows international transfer. In other words ask the bank you have an account with. Not hard.
The only thing visa related about the financial requirements is the amount, frequency ( if monthly income) and that it must be of international origin. The rest is just the logistics of how you meet the requirements. There was a problem about TW showing international transfers or internal months ago. Obviously it's not been fixed. If this subject is left open repeatedly there will be so much misinformation on here that the right answers will be lost in the volume of other answers. Same as the questions that actually do relate to a visa. If the mods close a topic after the OP has the correct information then the anecdotal misinformation will not be spread further.
Ron van den Heever many thanks for the reply. A good piece of advice too. Fortunately I have a few months before I have to renew so a chat with the io is on the cards. Much appreciated
