Robert and Tod, first of all compliments and thanks for running this page.

"Retirement Visa" - could you please post an anonymized example for bank letters?

I am about to apply for the Non-O from an immigration office in the central plains. Not many foreigners here and not much experience in handling this type of Visa. Also my bank is provincial and has never issued such a confirmation letter nor a letter of foreign remittance.

If you could post such a sample document I would be able to get pre-approval re the wording from my BI first and then make my bank use it as template.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster requests a sample bank letter required for applying for a Non-O Retirement Visa in Thailand. They mention their provincial bank has no experience issuing such letters and seek guidance to create a template for their application. Commenters provide insights and examples of bank letters, discuss the importance of wording, and share experiences with different banks, particularly Bangkok Bank.

But the OP lives somewhere in the province and not in Bangkok. But thanks, now we can show both options.

Agreed Tod, that's why I posted in the first place. Bangkok Bank in Bangkok obviously differs from Chiang Mai, however since we are in Bangkok better to follow the practices acceptable here until, if ever, the banks rationalise the immigration requirements.

only slightly? 555

@Dan ********
you know as well as I do that there is no communication between the banks and the immigration offices, sheesh there's no communication between the various immigration offices themselves and each one does something slightly different.
Dan *********
Tod Daniels Did indeed have one for every month. Then why isn't Immigration telling the banks what they want?
Tod *********
The immigration office does not want 12 of those, they want one letter from the bank with 12 monthly transfer listings on it :/

I would imagine what you have from June would work IF you had one from EVERY month AND if they were all stamped with the banks stamp (like bank letters and everything else has to be)
Dan *********
Robert. That do it for you?
Robert *******
i may be the bad man, but where can i read that this form is from a Thai bank as there is no name of a bank and the account number seems much longer than the space i have using internet banking
Tod *********
The bank letter that you get when you are using all banked money is just a 5 or 6 line form letter that looks like this;
Tod *********
That's actually from a BIG poster on the wall of Bangkok Bank out at Chaengwattana Immigration office :O

Very useful to me too. Thank you.

For those who need to show 12 months of foreign deposits, this is an example approved by immigration of a bank letter:

I am not saying that you didn't talk to the wing-nuts at the head office location, I'm saying I trust most low-mid level thaiz about as far as I can spit when it comes to things like this. BUT that's just how I am, :P

The information I just posted IS really what's written on that letter and those thais could have seen that the second they looked at it yet I would bet dollars to durian no one bothered to actually call that person at that branch and ask where they came up with that letter format..
Tod *********
@Dan ********
It was apparently written on the 23 of April this year

This is the person who allegedly signed it is อภิญญา เปี่ยมศิริ and Googling their name came up with this

อภิญญา เปี่ยมศิริ (จิ๋ม)

แผนกต่างประเทศ ธนาคารกรุงเทพจำกัด สาขาช้างเผือก

ถ.โชตนา อ.เมือง จ.เชียงใหม่

Jim is a foreigner service representative at Bangkok Bank at the White Elephant branch in Chiang Mai City in Chiang Mai province.

Googling that branch gave me this

*******************************************************************

So unless they fudged ALL that information I'd say it actually IS a real letter from that Chiang Mai branch

Tod, I was at Bangkok Bank's Head office in Silom. The young lady took the letter to the second floor and discussed it to the amazement of the older ladies there. I will post a copy of what they were prepared to issue shortly.
Robert *******
okay, benefit of the doubt, i will not post it anymore till an account holder of the Bangkok bank show us the correct Document.
@D**
, maybe you can ask Bangkok Bank for an example we may use nation wide to help all other members.
Tod *********
@Dan ********
and that the person you talked to said they don't issue it doesn't mean that NO branch issues it, only that the person you dealt with never saw it and rather than saying wow, never saw that kind of format before (and losing face) they probably just said it was a fake letter.
Tod *********
@Robert ******
I ripped it off the thai visa - nation news group forums, specifically from the Thai visas, residency and work permits sub-forum from someone who HAD said this was the letter they used

I didn't alter it in any way just ripped it from their post ;)
Robert *******
@Dan ********
I just re post a letter used by another member who got an Extension of Stay with this document.
@Tod ********
as you was the first one to get this letter, did somebody use Photoshop or is it indeed an original letter from Bangkok Bank?
Dan *********
Robert Lagas I've written on 2 other occasions telling you that Bangkok Bank denies ever seeing or originating such a letter, yet you keep putting it forward as reality.
Robert *******
if i have questions to a bank employee and she/he not understand I call the help desk from the bank, choose English and explain the situation and ask to translate for me.
Peter ********
@Robert ******
when you say "help desk" do you mean the bank help desk or immigration?
Robert *******
i don't have that one. Your branch should know, if not call the help desk and let them explain the employee in the office.
