How do extension dates and re-entry permits work when leaving Thailand around my visa renewal date?

Planning a trip out of thailand, which unfortunately falls around the renewal date of my extension of stay, 1/11, on a non B 50+. I'm planning to get my extension renewal around 1/10, with a single reentry permit.

1. If I exit thailand in October, will the new extension date apply or the old one? And

2. Will the reentry permit be valid until the date of the new extension or expire with the current extension?

Hope I've managed to make sense there. It's just the overlapping of dates that I'm concerned with.

Tia for any assistance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is planning a trip out of Thailand around the renewal date of their visa extension. They are concerned about whether exiting Thailand in October will result in the new extension date being applied or if the old one will remain in effect. Additionally, they want to know if the re-entry permit will be valid until the new extension date or if it will expire with the current extension. According to a comment, the person can apply for a new extension during the last 45 days before the expiration date. Once the new extension is stamped, it will be valid until the approved date, and they can apply for a re-entry permit to maintain their extension while traveling.

You can apply during the last 45 days for a new Extension.

As soon as that Extension is stamped in your passport you are valid to stay until that Permitted up to date.

As soon as that Extension is stamped in your passport you can apply for a re-entry permit to keep that Extension alive if you go travel abroad.

is this the case for all immigration offices? I heard at some places, you can do it 30 days before extension ends...

some are 30 days or less, some are 45 days or less, and some (Jomtien) will tell you to come back when you have a week or less left.

With over 70 offices check with yours WAY before you need to apply for your extension to see what policy they follow
