Freedom of choice of course! I wouldn't worry but I've lived in Thailand for 23 years so I know how it operates. DTVs are placed into the immigration system which identifies biometrics and fingerprints.

You no longer get a visa in your passport. The DTV is on a PDF file which you can save to your phone and print a hard copy. All you'll get in your passport is the 180-day entry stamp
