TLDR : Answer Summary
Thai Airways is planning to resume flights from Perth towards the end of March next year, as noted in a linked article. There is speculation that Jetstar may also start offering direct flights, prompting some travelers to express anticipation for available bookings. However, several comments reflect dissatisfaction with Thai Airways regarding pricing and service, with some suggesting that Batik Air currently offers better deals and services, such as a complimentary 20kg luggage allowance. The conversation also covers questions about flight availability from other Australian cities like Brisbane and criticisms of Thai Airways' service history, with multiple users sharing their experiences and preferences for airlines.

Oh why don’t they go to Cairns. They would change my world.

What about Brisbane

Thai Airways have had far to many problems in the few years. They’ve cancelled flights at short notice, long delays in customers getting reimbursed for cancelled flights, they’ve had to be bailed out by the Thai government to be able to keep operating on more than one occasion, they’re prices are too expensive and they now a reputation for bad customer service and delayed flights. I’ve previously flown with them hundreds of times (both long haul & domestic flights) but I’ll never fly with them again as it’s not worth the risk of cancelled or delayed flights especially if I have a connecting flight to catch.
Fill your bottle in the airport. Its 299 one way with batik from Adelaide. Over 1k with singapore. Are you really gonna complain about paying an extra $12 for a meal when you're saving $700 on a one-way flight?
I guess it depends on where you're flying from. I'm Australia East Coast, so SIA is my post-covid airline of choice (fast becoming Australia's international carrier too!)
Singapore is amazing but it's the most expensive carrier, even worse than Qantas. Their flights are double to tripple the price of Batik for a one-way.
I just checked a random booking (24:Jan Out, 20 Feb In). Batik Air is $1113, SIA $1392, so a $280 difference. Hardly double to triple! I'll stick with SIA I think!
