If you have the DTV visa for Muay Thai, which is considered “soft power”. After 1 year, so I have to apply for another soft power in order to keep my visa? Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
To maintain your DTV visa for Muay Thai, you typically need to apply for another soft power extension after 180 days, not one year as initially thought. Additionally, the DTV visa can be issued for a longer term but requires proper immigration procedures, such as extensions, if you're staying in Thailand. Exiting and reentering the country without extending the visa may affect its validity.

What happens to the visa if you get a new passport during the 5 years?

How’d you get DTV for Muay Thai, is it at any gym?
Emily *******
Liam Patel 20,000 included the membership and required paperwork needed, but you still have to pay the application fee directly to the embassy you apply through. No checkins are required and you can go anywhere in Thailand

Nice, I’m going to BangTao though, did your gym sort it out for you but you have to train there?
Emily *******
@Liam ******
they provided me with all the required paperwork for the embassy, I don’t believe your required to train at the gym your DTV is through, I know a few people who have the DTV and are travelling all around Thailand to different gyms

@Emily ******
so you paid 20k baht for 6months training which includes the visa as well? But the visa is still a 5 year visa? Do you have to do checks and go back there at all or are you free to move location

Isn't DTV issued for 5 years?

Validity is 5 years. Length of stay is 180 days per entry. Extensions rules or re-entry rules apply.

- Yes, if you wish to extend your DTV in Thailand. (After 180 days, not 1 year as you mentioned).

- No (so far), if you exit/reenter the country.

No, not if you do a border run and don't extend at immigration.
