I was drawing scrutiny at DMK after a 6 month METV and border bounce to Laos. I was told to avoid Bangkok airports and CNX was said to be easy which turned out to be true. I think if you avoid BKK/DMK you should be OK.

Just sailed through immigration at CNX after an METV and a few entry stamps.

The other issue may be the airport you enter at. I was drawing scrutiny in Bangkok (DMK) but then had not problem in Chiang Mai (CNX). Bangkok is the worst for potential problems.
