That's the thing. I really don't know how lenient they are at passport control these days.

Unlike prior to the pandemic, they just let me in without asking any questions. So I wouldn't want to assume that thing back then would be the same as now.

Hey thanks for the reply. I'll weigh in my options by applying in the Thai Embassy in KL (or Penang).

Similar to the above, did you apply for the Thai tourist visa whilst on a Malaysian tourist visa? Given that I have an impression that most embassies would require valid residency in Malaysia before applying.

I always have an impression that Embassies would require a valid residency before applying - so I was just wondering if its the case.
