In 2 weeks I will be set to get my next 1 year extension based on marriage. The question I have is that we have been living in SA keao last 3 years and that is where I have applied for the extension and submitted all the paperwork etc, but we are now on koh samui as we are setting up a business here, would it be possible to be able to get the extension stamp at samui immigration or am I going to have to go all the way back to sa keao immigration?

Obviously if I have to go back up there to get it for a few days then that's what I'll have to do but it would be better if it was possible to do it here in Samui and not have to make a long trip there and back

Thanks 🙏

I went to Sa Kaeo immigration this morning for my 30 day tourist extension to my 60 day visa with the required photocopies of my documents, photo plus my TM30 receipt. I was unable to get the extension issued without copies of my wife's Tabien Baan house book and her father's ID as head of the household despite me having provided these previously there when I did my TM30.

It was resolved when the required documents were photographed and sent by phone and the immigration officer copied these to her phone and got them printed for us.

This is just a heads up for anyone else using Aranyaprathet (Sa Kaeo) not to get caught out and possibly having to make two journeys for something which normally takes 20 minutes to complete.

I would also add that the whole process this time took well over a hour so, again, be prepared. Not as easy and straightforward as it was just under 12 months ago when I last did this. I was also required to sign the Overstay Acknowledgement this time, last time I was told it's not required when I asked about it.
