Bring $1000 with you just in case and change it up when you get here.Make sure that you get brand new notes from the bank or post office(and check them) as any notes which aren’t pristine will be rejected at currency exchanges.
You have two options available to you...put up with it and stay,,or leave and lose your money...which one you find more painful should give you your decision
Dealing with the public in general can be hard work at times,dealing with foreigners who ask the same questions all the time and don’t speak any of the language would be infinitely more aggravating.As long as I get the info I need I don’t care if it doesn’t come with a smile every time…that said,I’ve never had anything but very helpful staff when dealing with CM immigration
I was told by an io 2 weeks ago that I didn’t need to,whether that changes from one officer to another I couldn’t say,though it’s quite possible knowing Thai immigration 😊🤷♂️
