TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the details surrounding an application for a multiple entry tourist visa (METV) to Thailand. The original poster mentions applying for the TR multi-entry visa for a 4-month stay and asks for assistance after receiving an unclear email. The comments clarify that to qualify for the METV, applicants typically need to provide evidence of multiple flights into and out of Thailand, in addition to other requirements. Some users share their experiences, suggesting that different consulates may have varying rules. The conversation also touches on frustrations with visa processes and personal experiences living in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries.

Make dummy tickets, that’s free 😉
Will ************
Very clear what is required forMETV. 2 entry flight tickets at least one of which MUST originate in Italy and at least 1 actual exit flight ticket
Hakim ************
Just buy outbound ticket to nearest such as how chi Minh for 40 Euro.

out- inbound required. Also stated in the screenshot

Then dont come I guess 🤷

You want "multi" entrance, so you have to show them "multi" flights....
Frank-Steven ***********
I recently got a METV with providing just a one way flight. As for the requirement to demonstrate need for multiple entry … I sent them a picture of the car and motorcycle to be used for crossing land borders. But every consulate and every immigration office is different in Thailand. They like to make their own rules up.

A photo of the registration/car passport would be a good idea.

"I sent them a picture of the car and motorcycle to be used for crossing land borders." 555, lovely ! "But every consulate and every immigration office is different in Thailand. They like to make their own rules up." Yup, fucking idiots..., no need to obey...! Boycott this scumbags....!
Martin *****
Return ticket to thailand and a bus ticket at around 59days for a boarder bouce job done! But they are been a bit strict to be honest you should only need the the ticket to Thailand as you could be backpacking around Asia
Tom *********
@Martin ****
FORGET IT !!! Bus tickets are not accepted..., hence the stupid scum asks for fucking 2 flights...., duh !

@Tom ********
that's why I left Thailand after 10 years and now live in Laos 🇱🇦 visa 1 time a year, no 90 days report, come and go as I please. Fuck Thailand
Todd *********
@Martin ****
10 year visa in Thailand, no 90 day reporting, Fasttrack airports, unlimited entire. And we have ocean, beaches, great food, and not landlocked communism…. couldn’t pay me to live in Laos
Martin *****
@Todd ********
I know what Thailands got lived there for 10 years. Unlike you Im not old enough for a retirement visa and since I lived there since I was 27 I got sick of jumping through hoops for a visa, to stay in a country where let's face it your lower on the pole than a dog, and can't even own the land you buy. As for the beaches they get boring after 10 years. And you have 90 day reporting it's just elite do it for you, for now that is!
Todd *********
Martin Day oh you look way older! And if you couldn’t figure out how to buy land in 10 years, I guess i can understand.

I like Laos, but can live without the communism and dog 🐩 on the menu. But that’s just me. It’s cheap. And it should be. Not exactly famous as a great place to visit or live.

I don’t have any reporting. Ever. It’s LTR. 50k and good for 10 years.
Martin *****
@Todd ********
bit condescending I couldn't figure out how to buy land 😂 listen you do not own your land! Your company might have the land on paper but if you think your land is yours I feel sorry for you, now you might have a 30 year lease on the land with 2 options for extentions but again it's not your land and never will be. I enjoyed my time in thailland I spent a lot of money & time there, but even in the last 10 years it's gone downhill rapidly. As for communism 😂 your renting a spot of land in a country run by the army 🤷🏻‍♂️ and the moment you step out of line your gone buddy kicked out, thanks for the free house you built

Brandon ************
@Tom ********
It clearly states that you must provide proof of your need for multiple entries on the application.
Tom *********
@Brandon ***********
"proof of your need " ???

@Tom ********
I don't know if you are in Thailand but maybe you should leave if you cannot respect the people of Thailand.

thats kind of harsh.

A multiple entry tourist visa allows you to stay in Thailand for 60 days each time you enter during the 6 months the visa is valid for.

In order to qualify and show that you need this visa, you must show a flight into Thailand, a flight out of Thailand within 60 days, and then another flight into Thailand. This shows that you are entering Thailand at least twice so you need more than 1 entry. Without this they will give you a single entry tourist visa since you only showed you are entering Thailand one time, and they will not refund the price difference.

A new low then. As they are asking for two round trips from Italy 🇮🇹. It would be perfectly normal and expected for a genuine “tourist” to visit another nearby country then re-enter Thailand without flying all the way my back to Europe.
Brandon ************
@Ադամ *******
they're not asking for that. A trip into Thailand, a trip out, and a trip back in would satisfy them. This email was written by non-native English speakers.
Ivan **********
@Brandon ***********
is it working with train or bus tickets or only flight tickets?
Brandon ************
@Ivan *********
It will always work with a plane ticket. Trying to use a train or bus ticket is a risk.
Ադամ ********
Brandon Thurkettle Thank goodness. I read it as of a comma was after “trips” I guess 🤷‍♂️.

Brandon ************
@Bright **********
I didn't say you have to go back to Italy. I said you need to show a flight out of Thailand

i admit them my fight booking gonand back allready, but they want 2 go and backs , its grazy
Tullio *******
@Brandon ***********
that is absolutely incorrect, I applied for the same just showing one return booking and the visa was issued without any further request more over the official requirement states that booking should be presented for the first trip at least. The OP might have a visa history in thailand or did not present enough documentation. He should enquire directly with the embassy in Rome providing at least one return booking and stating that the for the second trip the plan is not yet finalized.
Grzegorz ***********
@Tullio ******
it fully depends on the immigration officer, there is a small note before applying that you need to prove that you need multi-entry, and saying that the plan is not yet finalized may not cut it with some embassies.

At least they gave him a courtesy of asking for more tickets, rather than just issuing single entry and keeping the change.
Tullio *******
@Grzegorz **********
as I said I followed the minimum requirement and visa was issued very quickly.
Grzegorz ***********
@Tullio ******
as I said, it depends on embassy issuing the visa, it's not clear cut. You got lucky.
Tullio *******
@Grzegorz **********
you right I rechecked the website of the Thai embassy in Rome and it has changed from when I applied in june, it now requires 2 tickets. So the OP should comply.
Brandon ************
@Tullio ******
it's likely the op only submitted a one way ticket to Thailand. So obviously they haven't shown any need for multiple entries if that's the case. Or they submitted a return flight to Italy well past the 60 days entry they would get. There needs to be proof that you need more than one entry to Thailand and that you're not going to overstay
Tullio *******
@Brandon ***********
it is not required to show more than one ticket in and out of Thailand only the first trip is required, it’s a strange request from the e-visa team, the requirement is clear, he should just reach out and talk to them.
Brandon ************
@Tullio ******
it's a requirement at most Thai embassies and consulates. And it is clearly what they're asking for. So why not just give them what they're asking for? They get to make the requirements and make the decision.
Tullio *******
@Brandon ***********
you are right, it wasn’t like this in June when I applied.
