Just a quick question, is there a limit to how many times in a year you can visit Thailand for 30 days under the exemption from the UK? I was there for two weeks in April, a month in July/August and want to return for a month mid December/mid January for a month. Thanks :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is no official limit on how many times UK citizens can enter Thailand under the visa exemption rule for 30 days. Travelers have shared experiences of multiple visits within a year without issues, although it's suggested to avoid back-to-back visits and to have proof of funds or a return ticket if asked. It's noted that while some sources cite a limitation of 90 days in a 6-month period under the visa exemption, this is not strictly enforced. Hence, as long as you manage your entries thoughtfully, frequent visits should be doable.

Twice a year by air mate. Got pulled up but my passport is full of Thai stamps and I was on a one way ticket

As Paul said. You can enter 20 times if you want by air, been there done that.

That is incorrect. The twice per year is for land border entry using visa exempt. There is no stated limit to the number of air landings using visa exempt. Certainly three should not cause a problem with Immigration but sooner or later Immigration will aski why you are spending so much time in the country and tell you to obtaing a suitable visa for your stay.

Apparently 30 days are being upped to 90 days in the nearish future.

Only one limitation I know of: foreigners who enter the Kingdom under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may re-enter and stay in Thailand for a cumulative duration of stay of not exceeding 90 days within any 6-month period from the date of first entry. (from the Ottawa Thai embassy's website)

As long as no back to back visits usually ok. I used to do 6 weeks in uk then 4 in Thailand. 5 or 6 visa exempt never had an issue. Just show them some cash or a bank statement and a return ticket if you are asked.

No issues. You haven't spent too much time in Thailand (which is at the discretion of the immigration officers) and your pattern of travel appears as that of a tourist who likes to visit Thailand a few times per year.
