Successful DTV extension at Bangkok, Chaengwattana - Teleworker (Digital Nomad)

Booked an appointment online under TR visa option as it's the same desk. Took about 3 hours in total to review the application, as well as giving me feedback and for me to gather the extra documents they requested. They gave me an "under consideration stamp" and asked me to come back 10 working days later. The second day I came back with the blue receipt, waited an hour and received the extension stamp for another 6 months stay in Thailand.

Documents submitted:

1. Cover letter

2. Application form TM7 + photo

3. Thai e-Visa print out of the DTV

4. Copy of passport data page and last arrival stamp

5. Proof of finances for 500,000 baht

- My finances are in an NZ bank account. They did not ask me to show proof of the funds in a Thai bank account.

- My bank statement did not have that day's date and final amount on the same line, so I had to transfer another dollar over so the date and amount were showing side by side.

- Last year when I tried to get an extension, I was denied because the NZD amount I had one month prior to requesting an extension was below the 500k amount. Fx had continually dropped, and although I had topped up the NZD amount accordingly, they had calculated the NZD amount one month prior using the fx of the day I went in for the extension. So now I keep more than 500k baht equivalent in my NZD bank to account for the fx fluctuations.

6. Current contract with clients

- Last year when I tried to get an extension, they requested that the letter was dated not more than one month ago. This time the letter was dated just over a month, but the officer didn't comment on this.

7. Proof of work

- Business registration documents, my CV, a few screenshots of my day-to-day (blurred sensitive info)

8. Copy of lease contract

9. Copy of title deed of condo owner

- If the person who signed the lease contract with you is not the owner (the title deed of the condo I'm renting had a company name) you will need another signed document that shows how the company, owner and signee are connected. I just asked the property agent for this and they were easily able to provide it.

10. Copy of previous 90 day stay notification 11. Current TM30

Some other notes:

- I took my laptop with me in case they ask for additional documents, so I was able to gather the additional document requests easily.

- The officer who checked my appointment on the first day told me I didn't need a queue ticket for the second day, but when I showed them my blue receipt and "under consideration" stamp, they asked me to still get a queue ticket.

I assume proof of finances cannot include investments (for example a stocks and shares account).

I’m therefore planning to transfer some over to my bank account - is this fine?

I have heard mixed reviews as to how long the finances need to have been there.

Proof of finances - screenshot for November?

Hello everyone! My November statement isnt here yet from one of my banks

I attached two different banks with required amount and 6 months of statements for each but the first bank with higher amount didn’t send November statement yet - so I took a screenshot where it does show November date for some transactions and the amount and attached to the pdf

It’s the first image on pdf and I fear they will reject me without looking at the rest..

Would they look at the whole thing? Would they ask for November statement as extra later or just reject me? Because it should come in a few days but I don’t wanna wait to apply as the country I apply for requires me to be near embassy to pay in person with finished application and I won’t stay in this city much longer..

Soft Power APPROVAL at Jakarta Embassy

Applied: September 20

Documents Requested: October 1 (All pages of passport — uploaded same day)

Approved: October 2

Here's what I included in my application.

PROOF OF FINANCES

- A cover letter with: 1) a bullet list of the documents included, 2) a statement that clearly affirms I will not work for any Thai businesses, and 3) a note of what sources of income I have.

- Bank statements for the last three months. Over 500k baht seasoned only for the last two statements.

- A screenshot showing the conversion of the final total balance on my last bank statement to baht.

PROOF OF LOCATION

- A cover letter with a bullet list of the documents included

- Flight reservations

- Boarding passes

- Hotel reservations

- Visa On Arrival

- Limited Stay Permit

PROOF OF ACTIVITY

- A cover letter with: 1) a bullet list of the documents included and 2) a summary of the soft power activity I'll be doing.

- Documents for the one-year seminar package with Discover Thai Nature.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

- I am a U.S. citizen. For passport place of issue, I put "UNITED STATES"

- I put "unemployed" with income under $20k on the application.

- There's a space in my name on my passport. I've never submitted my name with a space on any document or form ever and I've never had an issue with it before. But I decided to copy it exactly and include the space just in case.

Happy to answer questions if anyone is applying from Jakarta soon. Many thanks to this group and grateful to those who have provided guidance and given helpful advice.

Does anyone know if it is accepted that the 500,000 THB is in a stocks and shares ISA account? And if it isn’t, is it ok to transfer the money over to a personal account and use this as proof of finances? (I know some people have mentioned it needs to be in a personal account for 3 months)

Hey! I would like to apply from Philippines, it’s the whole process online? I will be one night in Cebu, and then 2 weeks in Siargao, would this time be enough? Should I also add my airbnbs receipts from Cebu and Siargao?

Also, regarding the balance of 15k, I have much more than that but it’s all invested, I will reimburse from a fund so I have those 15k liquid. But it will be only for this month, if they require form previous month everything will be in investment funds or stock, would I have any trouble with this?

Los Angeles DTV Update Workcation: Remote Employee (I do not own the company)

I simply wanted to share my experience so far. LA continues to be a long and difficult process for DTV.

Reading experiences from previous people who applied, I added way more documents than requested. I included:

1. Proof of Residence via Lease and Bank Statements

2. Proof of Income/Finances at ~$40,000 USD in one savings account, plus an additional $8,000 USD in another checking account, both backed to the last 6-months. I also included paystubs from my current employer.

3. Employment Contract, Remote Work Agreement, Business Incorporation Documents, Taxes for 2024.

On all of them I provided a cover letter that explained what was included and for what purpose.

Applied May 29th. Received notice June 13th requesting further documents. Four out of the Five requested documents were already included in the initial application:

1. Proof of Location via a Utility Bill (I Included via Lease and Bank Statement)

2. Proof of Finances over $17,000 for the last 3-months (I included 6-months in previous application)

3. Employment Contract (Included in Last Application)

4. Business Portfolio w/ Description of Business Activities (This one was not included prior)

5. Remote Work Agreement (Included in the previous)

I'll keep you updated as to what happens next!

Edit: As of today, June 23rd, it was approved!

I will be applying for my next visit for a tourist visa via the e-visa system, via the UK embassy.

Probably a simple answer, but it asks for proof of finances of no less than 20,000 baht. Will they accept the £ equivalent as shown on uk bank statements?

Hi everyone. I am a British citizen currently in Thailand but I will be going to Malaysia to apply for my Thai non-B visa to work in an English language school. For the online application it seems I need some sort of proof of 'residency' in Malaysia. What can I use for this? My visa upon entry stamp? I also need proof of finances, should my adress on my bank statment be in Malaysia or is it ok for it to be in the UK? Thanks so much for any help/guidance.

Is savanahket in Laos the only place to get 1yr multi entry family visa without proof of finances ? I am sure I read on this site there was another embassy in a neighbouring country that also did this but cannot find it on the search function.
