no, that’s not the correct answer. The IO works in compliance with immigration law. The individual IO has little or NO authority to do anything other than refer you to his/her superior for further assessment.
How many ‘warnings’? There is no limit. I know people who have been here 5-15 years without a visa. And so do you.
to be fair, Andy is not being at all honest here. There is no black mark. You would be using the system available. And thousands do exactly what you are suggesting. Often for many years. But you need to learn and understand. And stay flexible :)
