What options do I have to obtain a 90-day Non-O visa in Thailand without waiting for my bank account to season?

Hello all, again. I’m in the USA selling some property so I can put $26,000 USD in a US bank account. Problem is I can’t wait two/three months for the account to “season” in order to apply for a 90-day Non O visa as I planned. It seems my only option is to return to Thailand without a non O and then just hire an agency. The second problem is that from November to July of this year due to extenuating circumstances and lack of knowledge I ended up doing THREE border runs (used an agency).

So I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be allowed re-entry even though I have no bad marks in passport or even comments from any IO. My question is, can I re-enter the kingdom by using a “fast track” service and then hire an agency to do the magic required for a 90-day Non O visa, bank account, and extension of stay? Or is there an option I am not aware of? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on obtaining a 90-day Non-O visa for Thailand while dealing with the requirement for a seasoned bank account. They mention selling property in the USA and needing to deposit funds, but face timing issues with this requirement. They also express concern about being allowed re-entry to Thailand after multiple border runs and wonder if using fast track services and hiring a visa agency could help. Comments suggest alternatives, including applying for a DTV visa, which has different requirements and can be processed more quickly with an agency.

Hire an agent that takes care of the financial requirements for you: cost is from 17,000 to 33,000

Thanks. I spent over two months communicating with at least ten agencies. None were under 40,000 baht, which I think is fair. But 17,000 to 33,000? Please elaborate. 😳

Yes, of course you can. No problem. You can even solve it all by one stop shopping

they charge 60,000 baht

no they really don't. But they are very up front about fees. And if you require a service in this world, you will pay for it. If you enjoy gathering documents, conforming to strange regulations, standing in line at government offices and banks, there are alternatives available. Overall, if you can't afford 50k baht to handle fast track entry, visa + extension, bank opening.... you probably aren't ready to retire anyway

most of them do. If you don’t have a bank account it’s expensive. Or you can get the visa before you enter the country then you can get a bank account when you arrive and there are cheaper agent options without that hurdle

Have you considered a DTV visa? Lasts for five years. You have to go in and out every six months. I got one in about 30 days. I used an agent though because I heard it is quicker that way. You do need to show $15,000 in the bank also.

hello can you PM me the recommendation or contact information for the agent? I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm considering DTV visa, you say that one has to exit every 6 months, us that correct??

If so, is there a min or max duration tobe out if Thailand, so the DTV is still active and not impacted in any way
Vicky *****************
@Eamonn ******
It sounded to me like you could just do a border run. Exit to another country nearby like Burma, cross the border, get a stamp and return. You do have to show a monthly income of 65,000 baht. I forgot to mention that.

Again, thanks. I spent many months in Thailand this year already, and did three runs to Cambodia because I was delayed in my departure. Now I’m done with all that and want to do a non O retirement visa with annual extensions. It’s the best option for an old songwriter who just didn’t get that break. 😬

@Doug ******
I agree, to start with a 90 days Non-O based on retirement and then annual extensions is imo the way to go, as long as you have a Thai bank account with the required amount of money.

I will pm you

Thanks. Showing funds in a bank is no problem but I think the DTV requires a higher monthly income than I can show proof of.

you can go soft power which is going to a cooking class, medical appointments, or Muay Thai classes. You don’t need monthly income for that. You just need the money in your bank account (500k฿).

This sounds interesting. I want to know more.

there is a lot of information on the DTV page about this. I think this maybe your best solution.

The seasoned account is dependant on embassy you use honestly seen people get by with 1 month statement. If you are worried about visa exempt and want to season your account anyway, apply for a student visa to get in selecting thai boxing cooking or language as a suggestion, then after the year is over upgrade into DTV

Or you dont have to wait the full year and process upgrade in the middle but you will have to leave thailand for DTV anyway, why I suggest waiting for the year to end ( you would have to leave anyway )

The guy doesn't even have $100. The costs of what you are proposing are astronomical to him.

It’s obvious you feel frustrated that even at your advanced age you have contributed so little decency or positivity to this world. I’m very grateful my life has taken such a more constructive path, without money being the measure of my humanity.

Thanks but from what I’ve studied I do not meet the requirements for a DTV due to lack of monthly income.
Brandon ************
The consulates in the US don't require you to show the money for 3 months. The requirement is for 3 months of statements, but only the most recent one must show the required balance.

I can only answer to the part of your question, that is - you absolutely can re-enter via the airport with help from “the fast track services” (this is not the same fast track they sell in the airport but I think you know this). It costs an extra ~100USD for Bangkok airports.

I don’t remember if we are allowed to reference specific agencies in this group so you’ll have to do your own research 😅 (I can say that I used the help of the same agency that organized borders to Cambodia, now they changed the direction and go to Laos.

Thanks. I hope your estimate of $100 USD is very much higher than reality. 😳😬🤣
Oleksandra **********
@Doug ******
I have never seen prices below 3.5k for this particular service 😅 On the islands they ask even more🙈 If you find any agency that offers “an entry with no questions asked” cheaper than 100 USD please send me DM 😅 I need to know too😁

Okay thanks for the info. I’ve seen cheaper but maybe there are factors I was not considering. I still hope to avoid such service but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. 😬
Max *************
@Oleksandra *********
The question is, do you really need this service? It's not always about being a cheap charlie.
Oleksandra **********
@Max ************
it’s not for me to decide if someone needs it😅 I am just sharing the info that this option exists and it works. I did it once myself when I had to leave and re-enter under visa exemption to apply for my second round of ED visa.

@Doug ******
If you don't have $100, I think you need a reality check, and another reality check.
Brandon ************
@Doug ******
anywhere from 2-6k baht depending on your history in Thailand.

You’re an amazing contributor to this group. Even with your info my concern is that my account here has almost no money in it right now. In two months or so I can jam $26,000 USD in to provide that “last bank statement” but wouldn’t they react badly seeing my account went from a $1000 to $26,000?
Brandon ************
@Doug ******
you can try contacting you consulate and ask. But that's easier said than done.
Roland ********
@Brandon ***********
Excuse me, but what would the US consulate have to do with someone applying for a non-O visa?
Max *************
@Roland *******
Well, depending on location in the US you do belong to either a Thai embassy or a consulate when applying for a visa. For example, there's a Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles. Who mentioned a US consulate?
