As long as the immigration officer believes that it has been too frequent upon entry. Unfortunately, in Thailand, many things are at the discretion of the immigration authorities. No one can guarantee you a correct number of entries per year.
Where do you get your "knowledge" from??? It's bull shit. Even it's a communist regime country, Vietnam allows citizens from 26 countries to enter without a visa and stay for a specified period.
