TLDR : Answer Summary
The main party days for Songkran in Bangkok are from April 13th to 16th, while Pattaya generally celebrates from April 13th to 19th, with April 18th and 19th being particularly noted for large celebrations (often referred to as "Wan Lai"). Different events and activities may start sooner, and Pattaya often has a longer water play period.
Now see... I will be going out this weekend. I live in Pattaya and I have always had a blast going out at the same time everybody else celebrates songkran. However, I am told that pattaya observers Songkran the following week and it seems to me there is two weeks of water play here. I am usually done after one or two days.
Just trying to get back in to Thailand from Malaysia and they won't let me in saying I am not allowed to reenter? Have stayed for 30 days and got a 30 day extention only need 14 more day until I fly out to Australia. Need to pay a 2000 bhart fee
if you have a ticket back to Australia from Thailand in 14 days why won't immigration let you back in? It's usually only if you don't have proof of exit they will do this
No, it's NOT the truth. The BEST 2 days for Songkran party in Pattaya are on 18th in Naklua and on 19th in the other parts of Pattaya, because it's called "Wan Lai". If you didn't know yet, now you know!
Depends. Starting now to the end of next week in Pattaya. Gets busier every day. Pattaya I believe has beach concerts or something. They usually extend the water activity longer than everyone else.
