Guys, after leaving Thailand yesterday (Sunday, the 12th), the border officer warned me that my Non-O visa would be canceled, even though the end date in my passport was the 18th. In my case, it was fine since I plan to return from HMC with a DTV. However, please note that your Non-O visa will be canceled first. It’s not possible to simply 'switch' from a Non-O visa to a DTV.

That's why better do everything correct, if an agency or "magic course for a few thbs" promises you that you will be ok for 5 years, maybe they are lying to you, careful with scammers and "half scammers"

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to leave for Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, January 12th, but my current visitor visa (non O because thai family) expires on the 18th.

I'm concerned about the timing of my departure. Does anyone have experience with similar situations?

It seems illogical to wait until the very last day to apply for an extension, especially when trying to comply with immigration regulations.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know what is VOA, in my case I am married in Thailand, so I have more option, and if VOA means visa on arrival, you can get 2 or 3 per year, if is the first one this year you will ok, I stay LEGALLY in Thailand already for 7'8 years, and following the country rules I never ever had issues coming back.
